We’ve all read the statistics. Psychologists have warned of the dangers of social media to our mental and emotional health. Every week or so a new article publishes new findings and reasons why we should all abandon Facebook and reengage in society with…

I can’t believe it’s that time already! Can you? It seems to sneak up all of a sudden. But hey – don’t wait until the last minute to get your back-to-school supplies. In fact, did you know you can buy them in bulk on Amazon? It’s true!  Here are some…

I’ll be the first to confess… I’ve used 1 Corinthians 13 as a weapon against my husband. Both verbally and silently. Silently in my head as I recounted all the ways he didn’t love me the way it says we’re supposed to love. Now that I’ve said that, I hope…

A young man came running to Jesus one day. He must have been anxious about something. He was a wealthy man with some community status. But, his question reveals he was feeling a measure of emptiness inside. “Good Master,” he addressed Jesus. “What must I…

Adoption. It is such a significant act of love. Choosing to embrace a child into your home and heart. You are literally saying to that child, “I love you so much that I choose you. That is how much you matter!”   We see the concept of adoption in…

I’ve always taken notes.  Page and pages of notes.  In fact, I’m mostly an auditory learner and writing notes is quick and easy for me.   But, I’m bummed to say that with all my note writing, I’m still horrible with retention. After I became a Christian…

There was a call to worship, then we sang about how we wanted to worship God, we sang songs about God in the 3rd person how we’d raise our hands how we’d raise our voices what we feel about Him what heaven would be like and even what God feels about us…
How worship songs in the first person help build intimacy that changes us from the inside out

I used to hate Proverbs 31. Yea, I’ll admit it. The Proverbs 31 woman used to really irritate me, because she was the impossible standard for every woman. My friends would get married, and would try to be The Proverbs 31 Woman incarnate and I’d watch them…

My mom had a lot of the attributes of a Proverbs 31 woman so I had an example to go by. Reading Prov31 itself showed me how right she was...not perfect, mind you, but she did  a lot of things right.

With a great huff I drove to our local grocery store and bought a big bag of Tide and a bottle of fabric softener. I felt like the biggest cheater in the blogosphere. After all, I had blogged about and written a book of my own tried-and-true recipes for…

The Jewish people were facing a very real threat. There was a growing hatred of their moral values. Their belief systems and family values were contrary to the culture. More and more people saw them as a threat to the nation. There was a growing…

Rosilind Jukic for A Little R & R and Missional Call
Introduction
Hello! I am so glad you stopped by!

I am an American girl married to a Bosnian guy and we live in a small village just outside of Zagreb. We have two crazy boys who are as opposite as boys can be.

At A Little R & R you will find topics ranging from my own kitchen creations and organization to raising our babies and motherhood. But mostly you will read about living and growing in Jesus - because that is what I'm passionate about.

I started writing in 2003, when the Lord took me through a time of deep brokenness and introspection. Though each word oozed pain, getting them out on paper helped to heal the open wounds. It wasn't long before healing turned the bitter sweet, sorrow to joy, and judgement to grace.

That is my message: grace!

Early in 2013 the Lord laid on  my heart to blog for 14 straight days from 1 Corinthians 13 in preparation for Valentine's Day. The undertones of each post took on a life of their own as each verse spoke to church and addressed the topic of giving grace to our brothers and sisters in Christ.

The following week those articles were assembled in a book called 14 Days to Agape available in Kindle and PDF. Soon thereafter the book I wrote nearly a decade before was revised, edited and made available on Kindle and PDF as well.

Each month you will find me at Missional Women and Marriage, Motherhood and Missions (I fill the "missions" part of that). Occasionally you will find me at SpiritLed Woman, too.

I am also the founder of a missions blog called Missional Call

A Little R & R - encouraging women to find contentment in what God created them to be. Contentment and grace, an unadulterated passion for Jesus, an inextinguishable desire for holiness and an endless supply of grace to keep us humble.
