Dojo Cho Kevin Kemper Sensei:

"I would like to express my gratitude to Barrish Sensei for leading a great weekend of practice and fellowship and to all the Aikidoka that came in support of the seminar. One of the things I love about going to seminars is all the new friends I meet and the reunion with old friends. I feel truly blessed to be a part of such a great aikido community. Special thanks go out to Sarah and Ed for opening up their gracious house to us for the potluck.(what a treat) And to Nari San for all the help with organizing and promoting the event. Cheers, Kevin"

Aikido & Healing Arts of Roseville is a martial arts dojo and wellness center framed by the art and principles of Aikido which was founded in Japan by Morihei Ueshiba in the late 1920s through the 1940s. Aikido is often translated as "the way of harmonious spirit" where at its core the art teaches self-defense based on non-violence and the preservation of life. Aikido techniques typically comprise joint locks or throws requiring very little strength which lends its adoption by men, women, and children.

In the true spirit of Aikido our school seeks to blend not just with our students but with our community as well to create a unique space designed from the ground up to promote non-violent self-defense, physical health, and personal growth.

Our Aikido dojo is connected to the Aikido Hombu Dojo, Aikido Headquarters, in Tokyo, Japan through our proud affiliation with the California Aikido Association Division Two, under Frank Doran Shihan.  Information about the California Aikido Association can be found at the CAA website (www.ai-ki-do.org.)

Iaido classes are available under the Happokaze Iaido Group training in Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu (Benjamin Greve Sensei) on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

Yoga classes, taught specifically for Special Populations members with some limitation, are taught by Cyndi Mckeown on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings.

A free class for other aspiring yoga practitioners is offered every other Sunday at 11:30 AM by Sarah Staniek.
