“You must try the Genghis Khan” exclaimed our trusty guide when we informed her that we would spend two nights in Sapporo. Genghis Khan, why him? I said chuckling to myself. What has the great Mongolian got to do with Japan? Well, tales of how he cooked his food seem to have influenced a dish best served with cold beer. So, on a cold wintry evening we decided to go about reminiscing the Mongolian warlord in an old German factory…

As you all know, Rosemarie and I are foodies. And if you follow us on Instagram, you will know that, that is indeed a fact! With the launch of Chef to Chef TV Series by InterContinental Hotels and Resorts, our urge for an international food adventure has become stronger....  http://www.travelandbeyond.org/2015/02/18/chef-to-chef-tv-series/

Early on a Sunday morning, we set off to enjoy a Boozy Brekky at The Elk and Pea Eating House located on Lonsdale Street in the city. The autumn breeze still had a bite of chill as we parked alongside one of Canberra’s chic and eclectic street. We had heard so much about this restaurant and we were looking forward to sample its famous breakfast menu...

Sliding into my UGG boots, I made my way out leaving Joseph to his compulsory coffee fix. I enjoyed seeing my breath hanging in the air and the chill that made my nose tingle. The snow was soft and squeaked under my boots. It was a brand new day and the start of our 4-day tour, exploring Eastern Hokkaido...

Canberra is a city that is constantly busy with some event or another. I hardly have the time to keep up.  I have been looking forward to February mainly for two reasons… (1) I fly off to Japan and (2) I get to attend the National Multicultural Festival for the first time! I have heard so much about it over the last few months and couldn’t wait to experience it for myself.
A kaleidoscope of colours, sounds, sights, flavours and fun is set in Canberra during the 2015 National Multicultural Festival.

I hardly ever take my camera to a restaurant or cafe, so this is going to be an Instagram food post of where we had some delicious food over the last months. There is still so much to try, but let me first fill you in on where-to-have-what through a pictorial journey!
It has s been nine months since we moved to Canberra and we think it is time to share our eating out in Canberra post!
