My friend wrote an awesome tabletop RPG called I Love The Corps that launched on Kickstarter today - take a look and consider backing it? I've taken part in a playtest and had an absolute blast. Signal boosting appreciated!

Play as a colonial marine grunt in the year 2450, in a 1D6 tabletop RPG system of scene building, great danger and terrifying horror.

I believe there's a "leave my fricking photos alone you robotic arsehole" option somewhere in the settings, although I've not looked for it.

That’s “Heavy”: The Mind-Body-Metaphor Connection
http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/SociologicalImagesSeeingIsBelieving/~3/3h_stmOlO48/
Last year I was tickled to write about a cool study showing that, if a person grows up with a language that writes from left to right, then numerical estimates of things like weight or height will, on average, be smaller when a person is imperceptibly and unknowingly leaning to the left.

Just made this for dinner for the second time. First time I underdid the onions and overdid the lemon juice and parsley, was a bit overpowering. This time I got the onions right and used less lemon - didn't have any parsley so used bay leaves and a little herbes de provence (and used dry chilli instead of fresh)... and found it was kinda bland. However, I have fixed it with the addition of sweet chilli sauce and now it is LURVELY.

It's definitely going into my repertoire - it's something I should be able to knock together without much planning - pasta and onions I pretty much always have in, and lately yoghurt is a permanent addition since I discovered how lovely it is with maple syrup, making a cheap, tasty and easy breakfast. So I just need to have a jar of salmon spread in the house, and given they're so cheap I can afford to keep a few in stock.

Well this is the first of my tinkering with 32p jars of fish paste - and I have to say I am seriously impressed! This speedy fish supper takes just minutes to put together, and tastes absolutely di...

Hey y'all, I'm currently focussing on cooking on a budget since I got my kitchen usable again and I'm investigating some recipes online, currently focussing on agirlcalledjack.com as hers seem genuinely cheap and tasty and easy - I'm finding it quite hard to find genuinely cheap recipes, they often seem to either have a rather different idea of cheap for me (needs to be under £1 per meal to qualify in my book) or they're fake cheap - they work out the price based on what was used, but use tiny amounts of things bought in bulk that I wouldn't be able to use up.

Anyway, as I try out these recipes I'll post up my reviews on here, assuming anyone's interested. I'll try to include photos when possible, but sometimes I might forget. I've got one quick review done with no photo (was too hungry) which I'll post up now.

"Uncured, Melting Portraits by Ben DeHaan" http://feedly.com/k/18y0u6A
Artist Ben DeHaan created delightfully bizarre melting portraits for his series, "Uncured." To achieve the melted effect, DeHaan printed the images on a special type of inkjet printer that uses ink...
