I really love this place. Located just off the AirTram, the Racquet Club is a 12 court bubble with a modest sitting area complete with glass viewing area and a TV. I was here for CTL this winter and they were always so accomodating and friendly, not to mention their end of the year party was fantastic! The courts a little slicker than most, but the backdrops are a nice distance away from the baseline (better than most courts I've found in the city). I love any opportunity to play here!

Had a horrible experience trying to try out the facility. Tom Manhart the director of membership really tried to hide the cancellation policy when he aggressively encouraged me to try the facility out. Be very careful. He's a dishonest man and subsequently lied to his manager to save himself and shaft me. He is not a forthright man. I've asked others since my experience and apparently his reputation precedes him.

Great tennis, very nice clay courts, good amenities. Right next to the Roosevelt Island Tram or easily accessible by subway. In the summer, definitely take some time to hang out right outside, and take in the beautiful Manhattan sights.

To the older gawky bird-like receptionist: Due to your pathetic customer service - I will never step foot in that establishment again. Nor recommend anyone to visit.

In response to the negative review. When the customer made a reservation at the club, our cancellation policy was clearly and thoroughly explained .The reservation was made and a credit card was supplied to pay for the court. Two hours before the reservation, the customer called to cancel the court. The club requires 24 hours notice to cancel a court without charge. We graciously offered two hours of comparable court time at no charge, unfortunately the customer was still not satisfied. As a previous owner of two tennis facilities in the NYC area and with over 30 years of experience in every facet of the tennis business i am quite proud that my excellent reputation precedes me . Thank You , Tom Manhart
