Project Secured - Horsham

https://www.rooftech.info/project-secured-horsham/

We are pleased to bring you news of a recently secured project:
Client Type: Kitchen Component Distributor
Building Type: Industrial Warehousing & Office
Location: Horsham
Approximate Size: 550sq.m
Brief Project Description: The client has been suffering longstanding issues of water ingress due to a combination of defective guttering, fragile asbestos-cement roof sheeting and GRP rooflights. Previous attempts at repair had failed and therefore we were contacted and asked to provide recommendations.
To remedy these issues the perfect solution was to offer a Oversheeting system including a new profiled coated steel roof covering, new rooflights with glassfibre quilt insulation, meeting current Building Regulations and providing a fully guaranteed installation. Natural lighting within the Unit will also be maximised by replacing the existing rooflights prior to the oversheeting works.
The front and rear eaves guttering will be re-lined to an increased capacity complete with colour coated steel capping flashings to match the existing. The roof will be finished with all the appropriate weathering flashings and filler blocks including seals to the neighbouring steel and asbestos-cement roof slopes.
The site will be mobilised with fall arrest safety netting, external scaffolding and asbestos-cement related inspections, testing and clearance on completion for the client’s peace of mind.

Planning Roofing Works?

https://www.rooftech.info/planning-roofing-works/

Working on a roof can be dangerous.
The Work at Height Regulations 2005 clearly sets out a hierarchy which should be followed when planning any work at height.
The hierarchy should be followed systematically and only when one level is not reasonably practicable may the next level down be considered:
Avoid work at height → Use equipment or measures to prevent falls → Use equipment and measures to minimise distances/consequences of a fall.
Wherever possible it is a requirement to erect internal fall arrest safety netting or a similar passive collective measure when working on or adjacent to fragile roof surfaces.
Please contact us today to discuss your future roofing works…..
