Two days ago my friend Casanova Sorolla did the most ambitious version of his Signapura project to date. Four ballerinas of Slovak National Ballet did the Danse de Petits Cygnes from Swan Lake, one of the most iconic choreographies in ballet. Over 2kg of natural pigment was used to trace their steps on 74sqm of 320gsm Hahnemuhle paper, the pointe shoes working together as a giant printer. A film team was there to capture everything at 100fps. Tomorrow we will fix it and capture the whole painting with a Phase One IQ280.
The preperation took months and the actual event lasted 1'40", the effort being insane. The picture will never sell, size alone makes that impossible. None of this makes any sense. But it goes to show that if you really want to do something, do it. Dream big and work hard. Doors will open.http://casanovasorolla.net/
