Good result.... I used exactly the same online resources.

Have you tried the Interrupt driven examples yet? Handy when you want confirmation that a message has been received.... I want to use these to send notification of one-shot events (cat-flap open, pir triggered, bomb dropped, etc) so, as a test, I left a pair of these chatting to each other overnight, one message every 300ms with a small oled displaying message counts. The result was that about one transmission in six didn't make the trip, probably a result of my shocking code as distance didn't really affect the result. Easily fixed though by checking for failures and resending.

Great little modules despite their annoyingly breadboard unfriendly footprint. I splayed the pins out on a couple and soldered them to some IC sockets to use them directly on breadboard. Cheap and cheerful fix. :o)

Using my android mobile to decode hf-fax weather maps on shortwave. I was wondering why the results were a bit rubbish and then realised I was tuned to the German service rather than Northwood in the UK. I'll try again with the UK service and see how the app copes. So far it's a lot less cumbersome than the pc software and my phone spits out a LOT less RF node than my laptop.

A bit of Hammond Organ work today. This time an old L100 with motor troubles (amongst other things). A new run capacitor should get the generator section up and spinning again as the old one's just about to burst! Then it's just a bit of rewiring to make the mains input side safe and she's ready to (prog?)rock.

Slight overkill using the pcDuino in this application. Fair enough if it's just a "because you can" project but there are MUCH cheaper options for pushing temperature data to the internet. The pcDuino costs around £35 here whereas a cheap arduino clone and ethernet shield would do the job for under £20. The new Texas Instruments connected launchpad will do all of this and more for £12 and even uses the arduino-like IDE "Energia".
pcDuino can connect to Internet by Ethernet, WiFi, GPRS and 3G. In this project, we will use a TMP36 temperature sensor to sense the office temperature and push to yeelink ...
