Hi, I have not posted much but I read everything here. Smart people! :-)

Ok, now that I've buttered y'all up. Can anyone recommend an inexpensive source of 1 liter or quart clear bottles with wire clamp stoppers for my 2F finished product? Amazon has some that look good but they are $5 each which seems like too much. https://smile.amazon.com/CASE-12-Bottles-VINTAGE-BREWING/dp/B011YN5SH6/ref=sr_1_1?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1492868673&sr=1-1&keywords=B011YN5SH6

This Kombucha group doesn't seem to be very active. Where is the most popular one?

Please don't say Facebook!

The next batch of Kombucha is ready for bottling. I like to catch it when I get the very first hint of vinegar. My plans are to do these flavors in the 2nd fermentation (all organic of course, and some experimental):

- Black Cherry and Pomegranate Juice
- Crushed Fennel and Maple Syrup
- Moroccan Mint and Apple Juice
- Diced Prunes and Vanilla extract
- Diced Jujube and Apple Juice
- Shredded Ginger, Lime with Zest and Palm sugar
- Shredded Ginger and Turmeric root, strong Echinacea tea and Palm sugar
- Cranberry Juice
- Coconut Juice?
- Strong Licorice Tea, Panda Licorice, Apple Juice, and a touch of Molasses

I spent New Year's Eve camping near Siler Bald, NC and was fortunate enough to see this sunset. It inspired me to totally surrender some baggage from the last couple of years and live more in the present. With each breath, the scene changed and reminded me how each moment is filled with spectacular beauty and opportunity, and there is no "going back". I also watched the sunrise the next morning which showed me clearly that the future is very bright.

I think this is a pretty nice photo. It has been raining a LOT here ... we had a wet and very warm Christmas.

This photo is like a promise of light (hope) after a heavy rainfall and the winter soltice, and a full moon happening within a few days of each other. I like to think of the time after the winter solstice to reflect, meditate and envision the future as the days slowly start to lengthen again.

A brilliant design for a mechanized soil / compost sifter ( aka: trommel). This is only a prototype and other videos show improvements. It uses large bicycle rims riveted to 1/2 " hardware cloth, and an electric motor with some speed reduction pulleys. Eventually I'll build one of these but probably make it portable (on wheels), and high enough to put a wheelbarrow under it to catch the fine finished primo compost and have the unfinished stuff dump directly into a new bin.

A very healthy scoby in a small experimental jar.  It looks alive doesn't it?

The light from the near full moon, obscured by high clouds, created a circular "icebow" this evening.   I took this from my back porch.  :-P

Before the hike yesterday to Looking Glass Rock, I took a few pictures of Looking Glass Falls (which is less than a mile from the trailhead).  The pictures are only slightly enhanced to show better what my brain saw in the morning light.
