Ben Swann responded to my commentary on how marijuana prohibition benefits drug cartels. He explains that 70 percent of the drug cartels’ business is marijuana. What would happen to any Fortune 500 company if you took away 70 percent of their bottom line tomorrow?

October 8, 2014 – In response to Ron Paul's video commentary on cannabis, titled "Who Benefits from Marijuana Legalization", I share my thoughts on drug cartels. As some of you may know, I grew up on the US/Mexico border, started my journalism career there and actually spent three years covering the drug cartels and the drug war in Mexico. In Dr. Paul's video, he discusses how drug laws in America support drug lords in Mexico. 70 percent of the dr...

Hi Ron. If I am a Kentuckyian tax dollar recipient, which I know I'm not, then I am entitled to request a hearing before the board of Administrations (National social security administration). And if I am found not to have indulged in any of Kentucky's tax dollars, then everyone who receives these benefits and imposed false allegations about me, can possibly enforce another government shut down!!!

So now our children easier access it once legalized as do tobacco and dumb them down as we attempt educate them and perhaps even say too themselves, "Oh! Well we were lied too regarding weed, perhaps a line or two of cocain wouldn't hurt either being Coca is a natural plant as well!".

Amazing what certain entities within the government wouldn't do too make a legal tax dollar off of a substance known too be harful, isn't it? "But it's safer than tobacco!". No it isn't! It's resin easilly sticks to ones lungs more so than nicotine thus restricting more oxygen to the bloodstream and brain than does tobacco, its cyanide gases and carbon monoxide gases much higher than that resulting from nicotine and it's effect myocardial many times worse than that of nicotine, not too mention the damage done too the larynx and lymphoid tissue making up the tonsils and adenoids of which assist defend against that makes us ill when smoked, modification inwhich dopamine and adrenaline released naturally resulting from long term usage. These threats along with side effects of euphoria, delayed reaction and awareness, just to name a few, can not be legitimately denied. I'm against the legalization of marijuana. Period!

Charles Goyette and I discuss Obama's statement on the US leading bombing in Syria and more. Tune in and share your thoughts on "how we roll."
October 4, 2014 – During an interview with 60 Minutes last week, President Barack Obama said that we are "the indispensable nation," explaining that the United States must take the lead in bombing Syria because "That's how we roll" and "That's what makes this America."That's how Obama rolls right over the US Constitution. This episode of the podcast covers the continuous war in the Middle East, "moderate" rebels in Syria and the failures of US in...

Our economy still faces some statistics that are not easily ignored. Labor force participation rate dropped again. ...To some surprise, 230,000 new jobs went to those individuals between the age of 55 and 69. Those between 25 and 54 lost 10,000 jobs. Not exactly a sign of a healthy, vibrant economy.
October 3, 2014 – The September job report was met with glee by Wall Street. 248,000 increase in payroll is further evidence that printing a lot of money and increasing the national debt is still an acceptable practice for running an economy by a bunch of central economic planners, especially the Fed.Real wages for those employed still show no signs of growth. The quality of the new jobs is still suspect with four out of five new jobs earning low...

My county is number 1,846 on the list and I can tell you that living here is a constant struggle for survival. Wages have decreased while cost of living has increased. Who can afford to relocate when it's impossible to save up money to do it? Every dollar I have is usually spent by the time my next paycheck comes around. I am college educated. This situation is even worse for so many others.

A Justice Department white paper memo redefines imminent. It says, “An imminent threat of violent attack against the United States does not require the United States to have clear evidence that a specific attack on US persons and interests will take place in the immediate future.”
So they just threw it out the window. All you have to do is say, “Oh, yeah, I think they’re planning to do us harm, so therefore we can start a war.” So first it was an imminent attack, and then it’s an imminent plotting of attack, and that gives us justification to create aggression against a country with a lot of vagueness.

October 3, 2014 – Ever looking for a new excuse to go to war, the president expands the definition of “imminent danger” to include anyone who is plotting an attack, even in the absence of evidence.

I think defeating ISIS is a good idea. But I think it would be a good idea not to give the incentives for ISIS to grow and people to join these organizations like ISIS and al Qaeda. But no, our foreign policy and the policy that we push actually creates more problems than it helps.

Get my take on Obama telling the United Nations that America will lead on defeating ISIS, unifying governments in Iraq and Afghanistan, supporting Ukraine against Russian aggression, and treating and preventing further spread of the Ebola virus – all in this premium episode of the Ron Paul Channel!
October 1, 2014 – President Obama made his feelings known to the United Nations: Russia is the aggressor against Ukraine, Ebola must be contained, ISIS must be destroyed, balance must be restored to the Iraqi and Afghan governments, and the United States will take the lead on all of it.Share your analysis of how wrong Obama's statements to the UN are by posting to the comments below!

Corbet. I'm sorry but that is a ridiculous comment. Personally I view ISIS as the Middle East having to lay in the bed they have been making for years. Clerics refused to condemn the actions of the extremists, and now it comes to haunt them. Rather than deal with it themselves they choose to turn to the US, so now once again we have the opportunity to be the bad guy as viewed by many. Let's leave them to solve their own problems and get over the hero complex. Let their own people teach them that complacency has ramifications. You reap what you sow.

Let’s think for a moment about how much money has been created using quantitative easing. If we stick with this policy of easy money, then the economy must be stronger simply because demand for goods and services has been given a boost, and production of those services and goods follows, right?

In this premium podcast, I answer this question and discuss why easy money destroys wealth. Sign up and stand up against easy money policy!
October 7, 2014 – Today we discuss monetary policy. Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen stated at the last FOMC that the Fed could end the third iteration of a multi-billion-dollar asset-purchasing mechanism this month. That mechanism, known as quantitative easing, has been used to falsely prop up the economy since the onset of the Great Recession by printing money to buy government bonds thereby forcibly keeping interest rates low. The Fed’s bala...

deflation increases monetary value as it destroys economic activity and destroys the value of investment, real property, labor, inventories, and real capital. inflation only destroys monetary value as it increases real wealth and gives birth to economic life. compounded usury destroys wealth. gold and free banking is a trick mechanism of usury, coercion, and fraud. now that we have that out of the way, let's talk rent-seeking, you know the type albert j. nock, henry george, david ricardo, j.s. mill, john locke, thomas paine, thomas jefferson, winston churchhill, adam smith, and william blackstone would talk about. let's also talk about real solutions, like land value tax, the american monetary institute's plan or the chicago plan to pay off the national debt and provide for a stable measure of value, keeping gold and bitcoins in the free market, without turning government into commodity and currency traders.

Will our government ever learn that invasion and occupation are not the solution, but rather the problem? No new status of forces agreement can change that basic fact. Share if you agree!
October 5, 2014 – This edition of the weekly column covers the real status of US forces in Iraq and Afghanistan. Even after 13 years and no victory in Afghanistan, our government has agreed to keep military in that country through 2024. And the war in Iraq continues on a path with no end in sight. From the column:The Taliban government of 2001 in Afghanistan did not attack the United States. Al-Qaeda did. But the 2003 US attack on Iraq under false...

In this video commentary, VOL Contributor Kristin Tate explains that instead of giving people government handouts, we ought to be fixing the corrupt school system and getting rid of red tape and regulation for businesses so they can expand and hire. Share if you agree!
October 4, 2014 – VOL Contributor Kristin Tate discusses food stamps, citing statistics that show how the ballooning government program is rife with fraud and does nothing to actually help people get out of poverty.Have you ever used the food stamps program? Do you think it's a valuable program worth reforming, or is it time to look at other options for giving the poor a helping hand?Photo

VOL Contributor Jason Peirce says the Export Import Bank is the embodiment of crony capitalism. Did your elected representative in Congress vote to extend the Ex-Im Bank? Find out and let them know how you feel about it!
October 2, 2014 – In September the House passed a stop-gap spending bill to avert an October government-shutdown. The bill also contained an agreement to arm "moderate" Syrian rebels, and a provision to extend the Export-Import Bank (Ex-Im) through June of 2015. Here, we will focus on the Ex-Im.What is the Ex-Im? The Ex-Im was instituted in 1934 on executive order by FDR. It’s an independent agency of the executive branch, and chartered as a U.S...

The Voices of Liberty team put together a list of seven statements I've made over the years. What's missing from this list?
What’s the best thing you’ve heard Ron Paul say?Was it a comment he made on the campaign trail in 2008? Or perhaps something he uttered during his early years as a congressman? Here is a short list of some of Ron Paul’s best quotes. Share your favorites in the comment section below!1. “America was born of protest, revolution, and mistrust of government. Subservient societies neither maintain nor deserve freedom for long.”2. “Real patriotism is a ...

No one has suggested an obvious alternative for protecting our foreign service personnel station abroad. We should withdraw our diplomatic personne...
