Larry Ellison famously made fun of the Cloud back in 2008. Oracle plans to provide 95% of its offerings in cloud by fall. Guess the cloud isn't a joke any more. http://t.co/LcKk0LZ1Gs

When you attend a Hackathon, you typically have a team to divide up the labor, but Sam Harrell decided to go it alone and build an Internet of Things prototype. Not only that he raised the stakes by developing hardware, an iPhone app and connecting to a cloud service. Oh and he threw in an Apple Watch app just for good measure. http://tcrn.ch/1QcOM4o

The WSJ reported this week that Google had placed 90 percent of its internal applications in the cloud. That may not seem like much for one of the earliest cloud companies, but it's an acknowledgement by a large company that the firewall won't save it anymore. http://tcrn.ch/1Hebc0Y

As I navigated the events at TechCrunch Disrupt this week, I noticed a theme around APIs and I wrote a post pulling together my thoughts around the power of these developer tools.
