'Fahrenheit 451' is finally out as an eBook from Simon & Schuster. Of course, S&S won't sell to libraries, so we can't get it for our collections.

NPR on discarding library books. What do you think?

I think it is a stretch to go from anecdotes to the "industrial scale book destruction" the Cracked list describes.
I think most weeding happens in a trickle as books fall apart or get superceded by newer editions. I think there are little bursts of wider removal as space reaches a premium, but this story hinges on a sort of worst-case scenario to get any traction.
I think by and large weeding occurs with more thought and justification than the acquisition process enjoyed.

Great staff, veggie sub is superb, and don't miss their breaded fish sandwich on Friday. Cheers.

These guys know how to make sushi. Every roll is fresh, quick and delicious. They also have an incredibly friendly staff. If you visit Sakura you might see me at the sushi bar.

One of the best Mexican restaurants in the Canandadigua area. I have had several of their dishes and have no complaints. What's even better is that the chef can turn anything on the menu into a vegetarian dish, this is worth at least two stars all on it's own. I would highly recommend visiting this hidden, side street Paradise. Cheers.
