My background is unusual for a web director -- I cut my teeth developing successful online communities during the 90s, spent four years on active duty in the U.S. Air Force managing a 300-person IT unit and even spent a semester as an admissions counselor in New York City.
All of these experiences shape my views on user experience, content strategy and how we evolve the customer experience in the digital realm. I became well-known in my industry largely from blogging and speaking at conferences such as AMA, Confab, HighEdWeb and at universities like Penn State, University of Michigan & more.
