Nespresso. You like it? You might want to NOT read what I am going to tell next.
Nespresso marketing claims 12300 shots are made per minute worldwide.
1.1 gram of aluminium per capsule multiplied with the official number from Nespresso - 12.300 cups per minute worldwide results in 13.5 kg of aluminium waste every minute, 811 kilo per hour, 19 tons(!) per day. Esitmates run at about 6000 tons of aluminium waste per year.
To produce one ton of aluminium one needs 13.000 kWh of energy, 57 cubic metres of water and the so-called red mud - quite toxic, evil stuff - see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_mud
that is created as byproduct of aluminium production is a real danger for the environment.
Nespresso claims to triple the recycling amount to 75% - which logically means that ATM the recycling quota is somewhere around 25% - a poor performance IMHO.
Not even mentioning the fact that the 5-8 grams of coffee per shot result in a price per pound of coffee of roundabout 50-60 US$(!) makes Nespresso one of the most expensive coffees around.
Or in short: Drink nespresso to show the world how much you care about yourself but not about anything else ;-)
