Beta is actually a major milestone towards shipping a unique piece of Google infrastructure to Cloud customers around the world. It's also close to my heart since it was part of why I founded my second startup, back in the '90s. All the information you need to know, now :)
Beta release of Google Cloud Pub/Sub delivers real-time and reliable messaging, in one global, managed service that helps developers create simpler, more reliable, and more flexible applications. Google Cloud Pub/Sub is a way to connect data streams & apps--whether they’re inside the same application, a different application, or another Google Cloud service such as Dataflow for real-time analytics:http://goo.gl/ITHjd8

Hard to believe Carl Sagan would have been only 80 this year…
This quote is attributed to Carl Sagan, but I can't find where or when, or even any confirmation of it.
Some sites say it was his wife Ann Druyan who said "He didn't want to believe, he wanted to know," when being interviewed, but I can't find that interview.

Whoever said it, I like it so I made this.

There's a deep point about DRM in there :)
I love this quote from Tim Berners-Lee.

Join the festivities as the Biggest Little Air Show matches a thrilling aerobatic performance by airshow pilot Carl Liepold and his full-sized Yak-55 with demonstrations of exceptional radio controlled models from the Baylands RC Flyers group.  San Carlos Airport will close to regular traffic to allow realistic jet- and propeller-powered models to roll down the runway and into the sky to take their part in a unique aerial extravaganza including aerobatic helicopters, computer controlled quadrotors, high performance model rockets and more!!

Another fine train related event for the kiddos at the Hiller tomorrow from 10-3p. We'll probably be there at 11; anyone else?

I'll be wearing my UP 844 shirt - a locomotive about a million times larger and heavier than these steam garden trains ;)

(Indirect) Nobel congrats to +Tom Ngo! He was a co-author with one of today's Chemistry winners, Prof. Karplus at Harvard — and my first boss in computing, almost 25 years ago.

I'll take the very faint, dim, reflected glory of noting that turned out to be my second paycheck from a Laureate's lab now :)

Who knew today was free admission to national public lands (including parks) and many of the nations museums (through the Smithsonian)? Handy site...
