Established on April 14th, 2009, the Rogers Park Chamber of Commerce is the official chamber of commerce of Rogers Park. The Rogers Park Chamber of Commerce was founded by current president Bill Morton. He created the chamber upon realizing the small businesses, organizations, and institutions of Rogers Park needed assistance in getting their information and name out there to local residents.
As a result of creating the Chamber, President Bill Morton and board members created events and activities to support and assist local small businesses and to increase their ability to stay in business.
The Rogers Park Chamber of Commerce is a not-for-profit organization and is a non-political entity.
Solid growth since 2009 with 30+ membership, the chamber's innovative firsts in Rogers Park include the Taste of Rogers Park, Shop Local campaign, Fresh Start Monday neighborhood clean-up program, Walk the Walk tourism program, inclusive Street Committees (Howard St, Sheridan Rd, Devon Av, Morse Av, Sheridan Rd), "Home Is Where the Art Is" cultural tour, sustainable Going Green Campaign and Winter Snow Shovel Lottery. Community outreach includes involvement with the Park Advisory Councils, 24th District CAPS program and the Alden Village North Advisory Council. Diverse partnerships including FunderHut (community fundraising platform), Mission Arts (education programming & arts enrichment), Theatre Pros (theatre representation), RoboToaster (video marketing) and MFN (MultiFacetNetwork).
