The evolution of mobile phones....

Love this image. It shows what has become more important to us over time. For me, it illustrates the shift from communication to consumption.  What do you see?

I've just added a "Magento GA 2014 Wishlist" up at the top of this public GA/Magento Mind Map, starting with 'Move to GTM' and 'Move to analytics.js' inevitably.

Please feel free to add more ideas to try to move GA from being an afterthought in Magento.

Excellent thought piece on segmentation via Google Analytics.

Google Analytics Visitor Segmentation: Users, Sequences, Cohorts!

In my new blog post, http://goo.gl/mxh70H, I wanted to take the opportunity to explain some of the new segmetation goodness that has been added to Google Analytics.

Now not only can you segment by hits and visits (boring!) but you can focus on visitors! This unlocks a new level of understanding when it comes to understand multi-visit behavior on our websites (increasingly common), deeper insights into what really causes conversions/profit, and valuing of content and marketing efforts.

True visitor segmentation, without monkeying with javascript tags or needing expensive data warehouses, also now, finally (!), allows us to deploy advanced analytical tools like Cohort Analysis and Sequence Segments.

Checkout the post, http://goo.gl/mxh70H, to learn more about them as well.

Great post. But I have a feeling the new segmentation tools have not yet rolled out to everybody. Maybe this will speed things up.
