4th Session report posted here:

In a Sandbox environment I feel that Clerics are one of the best classes at all levels. Sure, Turn undead depends on the adventure but if the group chooses to go tomb robbing because they have a cleric this ability is a game changer.

About the Reserve XP: The calculations are correct. A dead Character that had a henchmen and donated everything would be level two and without a henchmen. So nearly the same as if he had no henchmen and lived. Not sure if thats an advantage...

As I am working my way through the Appendix N books, I found myself interested in the following article. One of my favorite thought experiments is defining what books would go on my own personal Appendix N. (For me Thieves World is always on there.)
A new generation of fantasy novelists are really changing the game.

On a blogging roll lately. Here's a post about some of what I did to prep for my Dwimmermount campaign. (And at the beginning of the post is a link to the second session report.)
So, the Manglers had their second session in Dwimmermount last night. A record of the action in the second session can be found here. In this post, I wanted to share a bit about what I've done to p...

New ACKS campaign, new blog post about it.
So, the Rotgut Manglers have recently started a new campaign set in Dwimmermount using Adventurer, Conqueror, King System. We've never played this rules set before, but we like the way it looks. Ou...

My review of 2014 gaming:
Another year come and gone. It wasn't a bad year for gaming around here, but it wasn't the best year either. Mostly, we settled into a new routine with a virtual player--it really doesn't seem like...

New Dwimmermount campaign started last week. Here are my thoughts about chargen:  https://onfirstblank.wordpress.com/2015/01/14/creating-acks-characters-for-dwimmermount/

There's a link at the bottom of the post to the new campaign's web site, too. (That site has my attempt to make a player's map of the Dwimmermount region--my first foray into CC3.)

Hmm... None of the download links on autarch.co seem to be working for me. They all give me "Page not found." Anyone else having this issue? +Tavis Allison?

The Autarch homepage generally seems a bit outdate - not even the link to "Buy now" works.

So, I'm getting ready to start running Dwimmermount on Thursday, using ACKS. I'm new to the system (although a long time gamer, with D&D experience back to 1e and BECMI). Any advice on things to watch out for? Things that are easily overlooked/forgotten? Things to make sure players understand?

So, last year’s resolutions went okay on some fronts, and abysmally on others. Here are some thoughts about what I’d like to accomplish this year: 1. More gaming with friends and family...
