Some haphazard damage and hit tracking by my group:
https://onfirstblank.wordpress.com/2015/03/06/tracking-4th5th-level-stats/
So, the Manglers have been back to playing D&D5e this month. We haven't had a session with the full group in a while (and the last time we did, I forgot to track damage stats). So, the whole ga...

4th Session report posted here:

Also a quick post about some things we've noticed about ACKS so far in our four sessions of play: https://onfirstblank.wordpress.com/2015/01/30/reflecting-on-acks/

In a Sandbox environment I feel that Clerics are one of the best classes at all levels. Sure, Turn undead depends on the adventure but if the group chooses to go tomb robbing because they have a cleric this ability is a game changer.

About the Reserve XP: The calculations are correct. A dead Character that had a henchmen and donated everything would be level two and without a henchmen. So nearly the same as if he had no henchmen and lived. Not sure if thats an advantage...

Slowdown as the new semester starts up, but managed to update the campaign site for the third session. No update to the regular blog this week.

New Dwimmermount campaign started last week. Here are my thoughts about chargen:  https://onfirstblank.wordpress.com/2015/01/14/creating-acks-characters-for-dwimmermount/

There's a link at the bottom of the post to the new campaign's web site, too. (That site has my attempt to make a player's map of the Dwimmermount region--my first foray into CC3.)
So, the Rotgut Manglers have recently started a new campaign set in Dwimmermount using Adventurer, Conqueror, King System. We've never played this rules set before, but we like the way it looks. Ou...

Call Lightning gives a save for half damage, but needs no hit roll. And it lasts for 10 minutes.

As I am working my way through the Appendix N books, I found myself interested in the following article. One of my favorite thought experiments is defining what books would go on my own personal Appendix N. (For me Thieves World is always on there.)
A new generation of fantasy novelists are really changing the game.

On a blogging roll lately. Here's a post about some of what I did to prep for my Dwimmermount campaign. (And at the beginning of the post is a link to the second session report.)
