The Most Important NSX Info Yet!
A Must Read!
I've been doing some hard core digging in forums across the web. I came across this forum with several post by a guy called "RolledanNSX". Previously, he said that the Civic Type-R ran the Ring in under 8 minutes months before that info was public. He also knew the power output of the TLX before that was public. Lastly, he knew the displacement of the NSX (3.5L) before that was confirmed or public. He's got some sort of inside connection, and he's got some serious things to say about the NSX!
"That is still a secret because they didn't push it to the limit yet. They was taking a step by step method while testing it,going faster everyday. On the second day a Ferrari 458 Special couldn't catch it.The car showed very very little body roll and mild understeer. "
October... time trial.(aiming for less than 7:00 minutes!) "
"Whispers is the CTR is doing it in the 7:45 range and the NSX is aiming for the 918 Weissach(6:57) and beating the GT-R NISMO(7:08.68)."
"they've already beat the GTR Nismo and are aiming for 918/P1/La."
"So in terms of Ring time this puts it between 7.08 and 7.00. The 488 is a bit faster than the 458 Speciale so it's still not near Nismo level. So we know that the NSX is going to be faster than those."
NSX to beat the GTR Nismo
NSX Type-R to beat 918"
"we know its capable of lapping the Nurburgring in under 7 minutes, should we even worry about its "competition"?
"NSX's transmission will be built at the Hamamastu factory."
"Honda is using their past history of underperforming to float under the radar with their comp with the NSX.
The 650S GTR and the new 488 GTB has set the class hp rating(670ps).
Honda will have to match them with performance but the NSX will not steal buyers from those makes. So they are really comp on paper(auto press tests).
The NSX comp is the next 911(turbo and with the 918 hybrid system in top version) and the next R8(will it go hybrid or not that is the question).
In Japan,it's comp will also be the GTR(going hybrid).
That's why Honda is playing this game of hinting the NSX is going to be low on horsepower from day one but really isn't."
"160hp per liter from the twin turbo V6 would not be hard to achieve."
"3.5L X 150hp/L is 525hp
3.5L X 160hp/L is 560hp
ePower will be around 100hp(Honda rating)
So you can almost bet your house the NSX will be over 600hp but under 700hp."
"The Horsepower baseline is now known for the NSX.
488 GTB 670ps
Honda will not get in a horsepower war and what that means is Honda will not go over 670ps with the NSX.
So expect around 650ps for the NSX."
"The horsepower base and top is now set for the class of sports cars that will compete with the NSX.
Base is the Audi R8 at 610bhp.
Top is the Ferrari 488 at 661bhp and the Mclaren 650S LT at 666bhp.
So the NSX will come in between those numbers, not less and not more for the standard NSX.
All we are waiting for now is the numbers for the next 911 Turbo Hybrid
(rumor is around 700bhp).
Honda will most likely be closer to the top numbers because it's going to weigh more."
"NSX will be 1600kg-1700kg curb weight
NSX Type-R around 1500kg(more carbon fiber parts)
NSX Type-R 3.5L V6 Turbo will make about 600hp + 150hp
Expect it in 2017
price $230,000-$250,000 USD"
