It's easy to forget that Subaru's are built right here in America. In fact, they are built in good ole Indiana. Subaru has a long standing history of being supportive of LGBT issues, and as a result many of us in that group of people have happily chosen to do business with them.

However, I think next time Subaru decides to build a plant here in the good ole USA, they pick a better state than Indiana. Perhaps New York or Colorado?

Subaru Speaks Out Against Indiana's Religious Freedom Restoration Act.

Subaru is not the only automaker with a plant in Indiana , but it is the only automaker to speak out against Indiana's law. 'We at Subaru do not agree with any legislation that allows for...

We tried to get Subaru to build in Ohio...now I hope they're regretting their decision.

Pence says he's not one who discriminates. Ask him if he's evolved in the past 15 years or if he still supports the same agenda he did back then. A yes or no answer will suffice.

Stunning. Mike Pence's 2000 Congressional campaign website reads like a war against the very people he now claims he "abhors" discrimination against.

It's an odd day where Keith Olbermann makes total sense to me.

Video: ESPN’s Keith Olbermann asks the National College Athletic Association and National Football League to boycott Indiana until the state repeals their discriminatory 'religious freedom' law.

The City of Indianapolis offered same-sex partner benefits in the middle of the loudest part of our atrocious marriage equality battle here as well. None of this surprises me at this point. Ballard is socially centrist and maybe even progressive, a shockingly good leader, IMHO, for someone who likely entered office over a property tax rebellion.

Pence won't repeal the law. Oh no... he's instructed his lawmakers to "fix" the law. His press conference today was pathetic.

Indy Star was pathetically quiet on all of this while it was going on last week. But better late than never? (Not really.)

State should extend protected status to gays, lesbians — those protections can co-exist with RFRA.

Mayor Ballard doesn't mince words. For those who think this is party against party, there are plenty of Republicans who are disgusted by this law as well. Human decency has no party.

The mayor says that the state should "expressly add sexual orientation and gender identity as protected classes in state law".

In my head I saw *drops mic*

So odd seeing "Mayor Ballard".

(We have a large neighborhood called Ballard here)

You know, you may wonder, why am I ranting even more than usual? Why am I so angry?

I made Indiana what I thought was going to be my temporary home over 21 years ago. I never thought I would live this far from an ocean beach. It took a while for me to find my footing here, but I have met numerous people I am proud to call friends. I was happy to be part of what I considered to be a progressing and modernizing city who wasn't ashamed of her Midwest small town charm and hospitable roots.

And then the legislature just shit in my home. Right where I live. The place I've lived even longer than New York. Hurting my friends. Minimizing so much of the hard work that my friends of many faiths and many with none have worked so hard to build. Making the people who are my extended family, along with myself, look like backwater idiots who no self respecting progressive company, organization or person would want to be associated with. And even if we scream 'That's not who we are!', our laws speak louder.

They shit right in my living room. They are adults. They should know better. Wouldn't you be pissed off?

I remember growing up in Indiana that Kentucky was the punch line to many jokes about backwoods outdated things. Now it seems that has changed.

For decades, NASCAR has been the refuge of the right, but today the sporting organization issued a strong statement condemning Indiana's anti-gay law.

NASCAR is very popular and family oriented. Good to see an organization like this step up.

Baking a cake is a business transaction that requires no personal knowledge or approval of the client's lifestyle.

Bake the cake, take their money, donate it to your church or whatever pro-family group you see fit, but don't pretend it's an affront to your beliefs.

A vegetarian restaurant can refuse to serve me a hamburger, because they don't stock meat. That's not an insult or attack on my being a carnivore.
