Somehow sharing cuts off some of the best parts of the post. Here is the extra good stuff.

"It's not about being better than someone else, it's about being better than you were the day before."

If we could go back in time, a 6th century BC spin on this from that great Daoist sage Laozi (aka Lao-Tzu) would be: "Mastering others is strength. Mastering yourself is true power.”

Always BE the BEST version of ourselves...day by day......:))

Used Golden Honey at room temperature as a dipping sauce for dinner tonight. Delightful! http://www.bestherbalhealth.com/turmeric-golden-honey-the-strongest-natural-antibiotic/
Many of you have had experience using turmeric as a spice, someone for preparation of the widely known Golden Milk and the other recognized it only as a strong yellow powder found in healthy food stor

What does a trip to the chiropractor look like for a cat? Like this! (Best watched in full screen to see all the details.) Thank you Dr. Donna King at Apex Family Chiropractic & Wellness Center P.A. for helping Tilt (now Carmela) get her head on straight.

Can you give a few dollars to help? I would love to be able to call a plumber for these ladies on Monday morning. They currently use a porta-potty type gadget in the living room. Full story -> http://goo.gl/Xk7JnD

How Exercise Changes Our DNA.
"Most of the genes in question are known to play a role in energy metabolism, insulin response and inflammation within muscles. In other words, they affect how healthy and fit our muscles — and bodies — become."

That's why it is important to keep training no matter how old you are or what you physical condition is.

Exercise, a new study finds, changes the shape and functioning our genes, an important step on the way to improved health and fitness.

If I had to pick one word to describe the doctors at Magnolia Animal Hospital, it would be compassionate. I have a lot of stray and feral cats and was amazed at how calm some of the cats are around Dr. Jon and Dr. Cindy. Dr. Jon and Dr. Cindy take their time to move slowly and calmly around the animals and the animals’ reactions are amazing. Instead of the cats needing to get knocked out for an examination, they simply sit there, calmly on the table and let the doctors examine them. When there is a cat that is too wild to handle, even by these experts, they are very caring in making sure the cat is knocked out with a minimal use of “gas” for a quick recovery. In addition, Dr. Jon has always made the time, be it at the close of business or over his lunch break, to come to my home and assist the pets who have reached the end of their hospice time to pass comfortably in their own home. I am incredibly grateful for his kindness, compassion and the gentleness he shows them and us during these difficult moments. This week, I met a newer member of their staff, Dr. Emily Falk. I am sure she would have enjoyed her Monday morning starting off in some other way, but she got stuck with me, showing up with no appointment and carrying a community cat that had loss the use of his back legs. She did not even flinch when I told her the tight budget that was available for the cat and was completely nonjudgmental of the finances available. Instead, she calmly and lovingly began at step one, an x-ray. It was easy for her to pin point the problem, a completely severed spine. She clearly walked me through the situation, allowing me to make an educated decision to euthanize the sweet doll face of a cat looking back at us. She also encouraged me to take a photo of the x-ray with my cell phone, so I could share it with the lady who takes care of the cat colony, giving her some “peace” knowing the severity of his condition. Dr. Emily’s compassion towards the cat and her understanding of the tough situation I was dealing with made a really horrible day, considerably easier to manage.

Our sitters, Jordan and Mandy take fabulous care of our furry kids when we are out-of-town. They always send daily updates, letting us know how the cats are doing, who came out to spy on them and who is doing a poor job at hiding from them. I'm glad we found such reliable people to take care of our very loved pets.

Dr. Qiu is very knowledgeable in the area of Traditional Chinese Medicine, including acupuncture and herbal medicine. When I was having problems with hot flashes in my body, I noticed a huge difference after only one treatment and after the second I felt right as rain. That being said, perhaps he did too good a job, since I now know if I go on a coffee/ espresso drinking bender there is help to fix me up when I'm done. :) Much appreciated Dr. Qiu.
