People who don't like marketing are those who have not been on the receiving end of steps 1, 2 and 4. And maybe 3.

Physical Literacy HOA with Neil Brown and Jeff Moreno
What's the current status of physical health for our young people - not just about what they eat or whether they play sports - also about what movement they do starting at an early age so their brains and bodies can support everything they will need to do in the 21st century - important!

Therapy Talk is a Live YouTube/Google Hangout Show hosted by Neil D Brown, LCSW.
You Tube link:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OQW766GhSNY
On Therapy Talk,  Neil  interviews therapists with unique areas of specialization and innovation.  Therapists and counselors and people interested in different therapeutic issues and approaches will enjoy this intimate discussion with those doing amazing work.

Jeff Moreno is a Doctor of Physical Therapy with a specialization in “the running athlete.” He has a keen eye for deciphering what is going on with an athlete’s movement and creating awareness and behavioral adjustments to reverse the effects of injuries and restore healthy movement. Jeff works at Precision Physical Therapy in Aptos, California as well as with elite athletes throughout the world including China. Ultimately he has identified what he calls “the movement crisis we currently have in our youth.” While running and the running athlete have been his focus, his attention is now squarely on creating change at a grassroots level, through his organization Move2Thrive. This is a message whose time has come, as people all over the world are stirred and invigorated to help bring what Jeff calls “physical literacy” back to our youth and to our culture.

In this show, you will learn:
• what physical literacy actually is
• Why it matters so much
• What it means to you, specifically

Join us for an inspiring conversation on Friday, and please ask any questions you have for Jeff and Neil in the comment stream.

Dr. Moreno holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from Cal Poly, California, and a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Southern California. He has worked primarily in outpatient orthopedic settings, rehabilitating and training individuals from all walks of life to achieve peak performance.

His interest in helping athletes at amateur, collegiate and professional levels recover from injuries and return to their sports has led him to develop a professional and personal passion for and specialization in the running athlete. In 2005, he became the team physical therapist for Nike Team Run Los Angeles, a post-collegiate professional running team sponsored by Nike.  Jeff's running clientele has included Olympians, US Champions and Olympic Trials qualifiers in events from the 800 meters to the Marathon.

Now his depth of specialization has led him to create Move2Thrive, an organization committed to mobilize people in the U.S. and around the world to reclaim, reinvent and ensure physical literacy in our educational system, to thus capture our youth in their most critical period of motor development, so they can move as we were specifically designed to move, with efficiency, skill, resiliency and the highest degree of literacy possible.

He’s applied many of these concepts throughout his upcoming book, “Ending the Parent Teen Control Battle,” published by New Harbinger Publications. His systemic way of seeing things has helped him enormously in the work he’s done in industry, as a management consultant, as well.

PLEASE SHARE THIS WITH YOUR FRIENDS WITH KIDS OF ANY AGE
Our kids are pushed to get great grades on standardized tests and pushed to do many things so they'll be able to have great lives. What about moving, though? Parents and kids alike are so busy and distracted by screens and school and parts of life that don't require basic movement. +Neil D Brown and +Jeff Moreno will discuss the startling impact of this, what it means to us now and what it means to us all down the road. An important topic.

I recommend watching this interview with +Sheila Hensley and +Jodi Okun for some sound advice about using social media in your business. Encouraging and uplifting.
If Your Ship Has Come In - Swim Out To It
In this series of interviews I speak to owners and entrepreneurs about the challenges of staying on top of their online presence while continuing to run and build their businesses.

+Jodi Okun  - College Financial Aid Advisors opens up for a chat about her business building journey, how she stays focused and some of her plans for the future as she learns more and more about her digital footprint. (14:10)

Jodi and I had never spoken - this was our first meeting.  It was exciting to record as we got to know each other.  We both felt a connection as we followed each other on +Google+ but comments
were as far as we'd gotten.

She said yes when I asked for the interview, took a chance and trusted me.  I appreciate that for the compliment it is.   I'm totally honored and thank you so much Jodi!

Look over Jodi's left shoulder in the video. On her wall you'll see.
If Your Ship Has Come In - Swim Out To It
I liked that a lot and I think you'll love Jodi. Leave us a comment if you do.  We'd both be thrilled to hear from you.

A very special shout out to one of my Team Members, Mr. +Scott Scowcroft  - The Scott Treatment.  I thought there was just one small audio fix that I needed on this video.  I sent it to Scott for "TST - The Scott Treatment" and he made our video perfect.

He is a magician and master video/copy editor.  Thank You Scott!

Therapy Talk Episode 5
With Special Guest:  International Expert And Acclaimed Author; Dr. Lara Honos-Webb
Hosted by Neil D Brown, LCSW

Therapy Talk is a Google Hangout/YouTube Show hosted by Neil D Brown, LCSW focused on unique areas of therapy specialization and innovation. It’s geared for therapists, counselors and anyone interested in new approaches in therapy.

If you are the parent of or involved with someone with ADHD, you can feel lost in a sea of ADHD information. If so, you may want to consider where you are getting professional guidance.  Many ADHD coaches have little or no clinical training. Many experts have financial ties to industry and most psychologists don't specialize in any specific disorder and often use one treatment approach to treat many disorders. Quite uniquely, Dr. Honos-Webb specializes in ADHD and Depression, and because she has been specializing for so many years, her intimate knowledge and wisdom with these issues is vast.

In this episode you’ll get insights into:

• What ADHD really is
• How doctors and educators approach ADHD
• Why ADHD is a gift and how to appreciate it
• How misunderstanding ADHD ruins lives
• And what to do if you suspect you or your child has ADHD

Dr. Honos-Webb uses tools from many treatment approaches to solve specific problems, in contrast to therapists who use one theory and a limited set of tools to treat most disorders. Many therapists define themselves by their treatment approach, rather than the disorder they specialize in. For example, you may find a psychodynamic therapist, or a cognitive-behavioral therapist who treats most disorders with their treatment approach.

Dr. Honos-Webb’s work has been featured in Newsweek, USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, Prevention Magazine, The Chicago Tribune and Publisher's Weekly as well as newspapers across the country and local and national radio and television. She completed a two-year postdoctoral research fellowship at University of California, San Francisco, and has been an assistant professor teaching graduate students. She has published more than 25 scholarly articles. You can learn more about her work at www.addisagift.com

On Therapy Talk, Neil, a master family therapist and author of the upcoming book Ending the Parent-Teen Control Battle, interviews other therapists with unique areas of specialization and innovation.  Therapists and counselors and those interested in different therapeutic issues and approaches will enjoy this intimate discussion with those doing amazing work.
