+Jeroen Mylhoff Hi Jeroen, sometimes its really hard to find actual results for our own needs and thats actually one of the first reasons that i started to share my experiences in videos.

But getting to your answer. Regarding the sticks i tottaly agree with you, they can be useful but at this moment in time i havent seen one that i enjoyed and fullfiled my needs.

Regarding connecting your mac with a Minix X8 H plus you will be fine and you will be able as you could see at the end of the video that you will be able to mirror the mac screen to the TV and play any content.

The only dought that i have on your setup will be if both devices are conneted to your router so that you may be able to stream online content from the mac to the TV and if the router is a bit far than i believe that will work but not as good as i have here at home. My suggestion would be to do what i have here witch is cable free. Get a pair of powerline adapters witch these days are really cheap and connect your router on one and the minix to the other, then you will be able to perform better than any wireless conection. The only thing connected trough wireless will be 1 end the Mac so once the data gets to the router will be imediately transfered to the Minix avoiding bufereings and delays.

But before you order the powerline adapters play arround with the wifi setup that you have in mind just to check if its enough or not, and if not (most probably) just get those adapters and enjoy your content :) Hope it helps. RJ

+matthew wengler Hi Matthew, my personal opinion is that for music you should go for a Quad Core, unless you will be using small productions with not many VSTs otherwise you will find yourself disapointed. Regarding photoshop, for projects with not many layers will be alright, but once you cranck many layers, high res for prints and so on you will have / feel the same problem. Its a disapointment that to get a Quad Core at this moment in the line up we need to get either a AIO or a laptop. Gaming forget about it, that GPU is just a joke. Unless you are using very light games. Hope it helps. RJ

+Nader Imani Kohani Thanks for the Feedback Nader. Regarding your questions:

1. Wifi or Ethernet will be the same result as the tablet that you will be using will be always on Wifi. In my case im using the Tablet on Wifi and the Minix on ethernet and on The Imac Ethernet and the Minix on Ethernet. If your Wifi is strong you will have no problems at all.

2. Never tried the Air Parrot app, but for its specs it will work with any device that has DNLA / Miracast enabled witch the Minix comes with. The minix also brings a premium app witch is Air Pin Pro so you will be fine.

3. Regarding DTS i didnt test it. It shows on KODI / XBMC DTS but as my connection is only HDMI i have no way to test that feature.

Hope it helps. Best Regards.

RJ

+Richard Forshaw I dont get the full speed of my ISP but this will also depend on the ISP only connection aswell. Try to test and playback a huge file on your network like 15GB and check XBMC / Kodi system to see the speed that you get on the network .All the Best .RJ

Hi +Colin Neary Thanks for your feedback. Regarding your question, i just had a reply from Sergio Garcia down below who has a 2009 Imac with a USB 2.0 External SSD and he states that he sees a big improvement over his 7200rpm drive. Dont know exactly witch speeds we are talking about but i just asked him so that we can have a better idea. So having this in mind even not knowing the speeds but knowing that will be a great improvement i would sugget that you go for it and grab the 500GB witch will be more than fine for you. Than just use the internal drive for storage. This was the way i configure it for my wifes imac and its working just great. Off course your speeds will be diferent because of USB 2.0. All the Best. let us know your experience once you have it setup. RJ

Humm!! Onyx says its ok but those symptoms are from a HDD that is dying with bad sectors and takes ages for the OSX to load and work. Do you have a friend that can borrow a SSD? or even a HDD? If you do buy the case use the borrowed SDD / HDD install OSX and test it to see how it performs, than you will have no doughts if its a drive failure or if its anything else (Witch i doubt). Then you can make a 100% accurate purchase or not. The case is only about 15€ so you will not lose mucth if its not the HDD. AH! If the internal reveals to be damaged dont use it for storage as i advised on the previous post :) Let me know of any future development Colin. All the Best. RJ
