OK, this is a guest post I wrote for my friend Pam Grundy's blog.  I am appalled that major media is not paying more attention to the Flint, MIchigan water crisis. I am even more appalled that Governor Rick Snyder is still in office and 8,000 children under six in the city of Flint  are permanently damaged by lead poisoning, all because of this man's bungling.  Where is the justice?  Flint is the bellweather for what can happen to us all as America's crumbling infrastructure is "privatized" #flintwatercrisis   #leadpoisoning   #corruption
How Michigan Governor, Rick Snyder, Committed Political Suicide and Woke Up America. By now we all know, from a variety of sources' that Michigan Governor, Rick Snyder, is the man who engineered the poisoning of the w...

Ok -- just did a guest post for Pam Grundy's blog ,Grilled Cheese Jesus, on the Flint water crisis.  Hard to believe that Governor Rick Snyder has not resigned yet ...oh well, Flint is the canary in the coal mine.  We can expect more of this in our privatized, corporatized America.   ...http://grilledcheesejesus.blogspot.com/

and so is MLK's dream of racial equality all across the board...... we have made some progress, but there is still a long way to go.  Slavery enslaved the slave owners too, you know and we all suffer from the legacy of " the South's peculiar institution"

Merry Christmas! Tokyo KITTE white Christmas tree

There are quite a few Christmas trees decorating the Japanese public space, so if you want to enjoy one while visiting Japan, you have a lot of choices. This year, my favorite Japanese Christmas tree is the one displayed in the atrium of KITTE Marunouchi, Tokyo: it’s a white tree, installed on a pure snow pedestal, embellished with a curtain of lights simulating snowing…

Wow-- new evidence surfaces that Nixon was truly a traitor.  Read this and see just what a narcissistic meglomaniac the man really was.  New records reveal the depth of his deceit during the Viet Nam War.  #Nixon
Richard Nixon was a traitor. The new release of extended versions of Nixon's papers now confirms this long-standing belief, usually dismissed as a "conspiracy theory" by Republican conservatives. Now it has been substantiated by none other than right-wing columnist George Will. Nixon's newly revealed records show for certain that in 1968, as a presidential candidate, he ordered Anna Chennault, his liaison to the South Vietnam government, to persu...

I've been a customer for the twenty years that I have lived in this area and have always had a great experience with Hendrick's. They know appliances backwards and forwards and have helped me make crucial decisions about what to buy based on my needs, not their profit margin. They are professional and polite. I do research on the internet, but in the end usually buy from Hendricks as their prices are competitive and they haul away the old and install the new expertly and for free. AND best of all, they stand behind their products. If there is a problem they will fix it. You are dealing with human breings, not online chat. It doesn't hurt that they truly understand old houses and their idiosyncratic systems either. I do not hesitate to recommend them highly.

Joe Hayes has done work for me in my Lambertville home for more than ten years. I always call him first when something needs doing and if he can, he works me in between larger jobs. While his specialty is skilled carpentry and he has done everything from building closets to soundproofing an entire room and re-building my backyard fence, he also has been a treasure trove of valuable advice over the years and has saved me from disaster more than once. He knows when a building permit is needed and when not, and since he is a general contractor, he has all the necessary licensing and insurance as well as an encylopedic knowledge of good local painters, plumbers and electricians and other professionals. His recommendations are generally excellent. Oh, and I never have to worry about whether he or anyone working for him is insured so I don't worry about roof repairs or the installation of new windows and things like that ( yes Joe has taken care of both those things for me) Joe is knowledgeable, professional, and honest as the day is long. In short, he is the kind of guy you want in a lifeboat with you when the Titanic is going down :-) He will never let you down.

I love the River Queen Gallery. The high ceilings and open space of this former firehouse, smack in the middle of downtown Lambertville, make it a place I visit often. The gallery features work by local artists and artisans and there is always a wide, ever changing variety. Owner Jane Wesby has a discerning eye and great taste. The people she represents are all consummate professionals and you can find everything from a unique pair of hand crafted earrings, to an exquisite painting( beautifully framed od course) or magnificent contemporary carved wood chairs. There are also occasional openings and musical events that spill out into the streets. Something for everybody and always something to make you smile.

I've suffered from sciatica and lower back pain for years and I spend a lot of time in front of a computer so last winter I was in so much pain that by spring I decided to try chiropractic. Nothing prepared for the wonderful experience I had at River's Edge Chiropriactic. I had tried chiropractic many years ago in Brooklyn without real success, but since this office was right here in Lambertville and had a good reputation, I decided to give it a try.. River's Edge Chiropractic uses state of the art, digital equipment for both diagnosis and treatment and I was amazed when my detailed posture analysis was explained to me and when the treatment began. I began to walk better and stand straighter right away. Both Dr. Thum and Dr. Comune are skilled professionals and use something called the Activator method which had me pain free in a matter of a few weeks. Regular adjustments and some sensible diet and exercise recommendations have made all the difference. I am so grateful and feel very lucky to have a wellness resource like River's Edge Chiropractic so nearby.
