this is just sooooo funny.

At a recent press conference, Donald Trump repeatedly told Univision reporter Jorge Ramos to “sit down.” Since he said it so many times, Jimmy wanted to see what would happen if we showed that clip to group of dogs.

He was definitely an unsung hero;;;a man of principle who labored in obscurity..  Mark Twain was one of his closest friends and Thomas Edison( the greedy, egotistical bastard) was one of his worst enemies. What a guy and what a life.  #Tesla

A well conceived and well written article that  makes an excellent point regarding the heavily doctored tapes used to entrap Planned Parenthood. To wit: Women KNOW what abortion is .... they are intimately familiar with their own bodies and the processes of birth and death. Most women who seek an abortion already have one or two children.  They are not apt to be swayed by shocking videos.  These are cynical, political statements made to impress a self satisfied minority of men( and a few women) to convince them of the justice of their cause.
Planned Parenthood and the truth about women’s bodies.

Now this is a concoction you will try at your own peril.  Personally, I cannot imagine asking a bartender to make me a flaming Donald Trump :-) . but I must say that tipsy bartender knows his stuff.  That is one strong drink!!!! #donaldtrump

Tom Lehrer  really takes me back to the bad old days of the Cold War ...." the bomb" is still and issue today and becoming more so. In fact the stakes are even higher than they were back then. ...I suppose comedians will soon be doing routines about the Iran nuclear deal. As someone famous( I don't remember who at the moment) said " History doesn't repeat itself. It rhymes "

Glacial earthquakes may help forecast sea-level rise | #Geology #GeologyPage

It is only recently that scientists learned of the existence of glacial earthquakes–measurable seismic rumblings produced as massive chunks fall off the fronts of advancing glaciers into the ocean. In Greenland, these quakes have grown sevenfold over the last two decades and they are advancing northward, suggesting that ice loss is increasing as climate warms. But exactly what drives the quakes has been poorly understood.

fascinating .... I find this topic fascinating and don't need a study to tell me that something happens after death..... I figure I'll find out when I get there.... or not LOL

Scientific Study of Near-Death Experiences

Sarah Knapton of The Telegraph writes about a scientific study that looks at near-death experiences, revealing that what we know about human consciousness is quite limited:

Death is a depressingly inevitable consequence of life, but now scientists believe they may have found some light at the end of the tunnel.

The largest ever medical study into near-death and out-of-body experiences has discovered that some awareness may continue even after the brain has shut down completely. It is a controversial subject which has, until recently, been treated with widespread scepticism.

But scientists at the University of Southampton have spent four years examining more than 2,000 people who suffered cardiac arrests at 15 hospitals in the UK, US and Austria. And they found that nearly 40 per cent of people who survived described some kind of ‘awareness’ during the time when they were clinically dead before their hearts were restarted.

Joe Hayes has done work for me in my Lambertville home for more than ten years. I always call him first when something needs doing and if he can, he works me in between larger jobs. While his specialty is skilled carpentry and he has done everything from building closets to soundproofing an entire room and re-building my backyard fence, he also has been a treasure trove of valuable advice over the years and has saved me from disaster more than once. He knows when a building permit is needed and when not, and since he is a general contractor, he has all the necessary licensing and insurance as well as an encylopedic knowledge of good local painters, plumbers and electricians and other professionals. His recommendations are generally excellent. Oh, and I never have to worry about whether he or anyone working for him is insured so I don't worry about roof repairs or the installation of new windows and things like that ( yes Joe has taken care of both those things for me) Joe is knowledgeable, professional, and honest as the day is long. In short, he is the kind of guy you want in a lifeboat with you when the Titanic is going down :-) He will never let you down.

I've suffered from sciatica and lower back pain for years and I spend a lot of time in front of a computer so last winter I was in so much pain that by spring I decided to try chiropractic. Nothing prepared for the wonderful experience I had at River's Edge Chiropriactic. I had tried chiropractic many years ago in Brooklyn without real success, but since this office was right here in Lambertville and had a good reputation, I decided to give it a try.. River's Edge Chiropractic uses state of the art, digital equipment for both diagnosis and treatment and I was amazed when my detailed posture analysis was explained to me and when the treatment began. I began to walk better and stand straighter right away. Both Dr. Thum and Dr. Comune are skilled professionals and use something called the Activator method which had me pain free in a matter of a few weeks. Regular adjustments and some sensible diet and exercise recommendations have made all the difference. I am so grateful and feel very lucky to have a wellness resource like River's Edge Chiropractic so nearby.

I love the River Queen Gallery. The high ceilings and open space of this former firehouse, smack in the middle of downtown Lambertville, make it a place I visit often. The gallery features work by local artists and artisans and there is always a wide, ever changing variety. Owner Jane Wesby has a discerning eye and great taste. The people she represents are all consummate professionals and you can find everything from a unique pair of hand crafted earrings, to an exquisite painting( beautifully framed od course) or magnificent contemporary carved wood chairs. There are also occasional openings and musical events that spill out into the streets. Something for everybody and always something to make you smile.
