Dumbest Kid in the World

A young boy enters a barber shop and the barber whispers to his customer, “This is the dumbest kid in the world.   Watch while I prove it to you.”

The barber puts a dollar bill in one hand and two quarters in the other, then calls the boy over and asks, “Which do you want, son?”

The boy takes the quarters and leaves.

“What did I tell you?” said the barber.   “That kid never learns!”

Later, when the customer leaves, he sees the same young boy coming out of the ice cream store.   “Hey, son, may I ask you a question?   Why did you take the quarters instead of the dollar bill?”

The boy licked his ice cream cone and replied, “Because the day I take the dollar, the game's over.”

Some of our gorgeous cows and their calves taking a "nooner" (seista).
They'll do this in the shade while they digest their morning graze.
Thal calf on the left looks headless because he's grooming himself on his left side. Amazing how that neck will stretch.
You also see here how we started with all-black mix-breed Angus and are gradually converting to a Galloway-Angus cross.

A great classic #selfhelp book - and it's a salesperson's bible. Hope some of these #internetmarketing "guru's" would adopt it.

This is the best joy of farming - helping life thrive. You've got us beat - we only have 10 so far. We still have some work to do in getting a tighter "settling" time for our cows and heifers, so we get them as close together as possible.

Those are ice chunks, not rocks. Cows drank the water out from under. It's filled with spring runoff now....

Who says only #Montana is "Big Sky Country"? The prairie sections of #Missouri will give you just vistas just as sweeping.

*This is strip-grazing. *
The yellow line is an electrified "poly-wire" - which young calves can walk under to eat the best. This calf is resting after being filled with that grass and its mother's milk.
We move them every day, sometimes twice a day, and then fence them out of what they just ate so they don't over-graze it. In 3-6 months, the grass will be ready to graze again - the longer you can let it grow, the better.
Oh - why that calf doesn't have any white on it (It's dad and mom both have white faces, plus a big white stripe on it's dad - well, black is dominant genetics - and everything else is up to God.)
We call him "Neighbor" as a joke, since all the bulls on neighboring farms are solid...

Can you spot the Cheerleader Goats? My sister's herd was next to some grazing cows I had nearby. #farming

Hope you can get your hands on a copy. At least it's available as "open source" through Internet Archive (https://archive.org/details/Breakthrough-Advertising-by-Eugene-M-Schwartz) Otherwise pay hundreds for a print edition if you can find one... #marketingtips
