Day four of the tour. Tom Tilley and the Hack team swing into Lismore in northern NSW to talk broadband policy and regional Australia. It was a ripper show, and we talked to two of Australia's most senior politicians Anthony Albanese and Malcolm Turnbull about costings, broadband and internet filter

We went here as part of a group of about 100. The food was superb. Honestly could have been in a top restaurant in any culinary city in the world. We had a 4 course meal, with small plates throughout. The waiters were very attentive. The food was well made and very tasty examples of local food with a modern twist.

The usual breakfast fayre. Toast coffee etc. The milkshakes are good and large. The service though was average to poor. It took far too long to get attention, so when we wanted something so 7/10 times I just went to the kitchen myself. The big breakfast was ok but one tiny scrawny sausage and two massive pieces of cold toast is a bit sad. There was a wedding on so most of the staff were preoccupied. When we went looking for a baby change we were told that we might not be able to use it because of the wedding party, so that took more negotiations.

Hard to fault the new Newport. Fish, pizzas, salads and a cocktail bar. It Das already one of the best beer gardens in Australia but now it is pretty unbeatable. Great views. Good food. The water curtains are a neat touch. Just get there early it fills up very fast. Look up the entertainment guide too as there is live music most days.

So much promise but so many mistakes. Nice Italian decor and drinks but poor service. The issue we too encountered was the "no food from 1130 to 12 rule". Then when we decided to just order drinks, they sat on the counter for 15 minutes before they got taken to us. The drinks were nice but the service was below average. All when the place was empty at midday. And don't shame other reviewers (below) when they comment on your business it makes you both look childish.

Nice Italian food but an odd set up. Noisy but vibrant atmosphere. You get cards to charge the food to and you have to queue for separate drinks, salad or pasta. Queuing always takes forever at lunch because you give your order directly to the chefs. It all just seems like an unnecessary waste of time.
