I did roughly the same thing, but did it with an RJ-11 form-factor so I could use phone cords.  Nice work!
 
I do use basicaly the same design since some time now, but without the resistor (something new in 1-wire design guide). Pleas shed a light
 
You may need a capacitor close to the sensor if running on long cable to help stabilize the power feeding it
