I was recently appointed as an Executive Fellow for the Center for the Future of Organization (CFFO), an independent think tank at the Drucker School of Management at Claremont Graduate University in California.

“I think a lot of the chief executives have been reluctant to embrace social platforms because they have been fearful about risk,” says Bob Pickard, a principal with social public relations firm Signal Leadership Communication. “There has been a lack of corporate courage.”

Summarizing my professional journey, this presentation explains a signature ‘lesson learned’ for every single one of the 25+ years of my PR career working in five countries (USA, Japan, Canada, Korea and Singapore) helping clients communicate around the world. It was primarily written for younger people who are now starting out in the public relations profession

“It’s pretty clear right now with digital disruption that a lot of leaders need to improve their leadership communication,” said Pickard (pictured above, right). Pickard said the intersection where social media meets corporate communications is an underserved part of the marketplace. While social media is increasingly driving communication, many CEOs remain fearful and cautious about online PR risks and unsure about opportunities, he said. Many top executives "are absent from social media and many of them are struggling. We’re going to help them change all that.”
