Interesting metaphors and ideas in this TED Talk.
Cognitive scientist Donald Hoffman is trying to answer a big question: Do we experience the world as it really is ... or as we need it to be? In this ever so slightly mind-blowing talk, he ponders how our minds construct reality for us.

31 Creativity Hacks for Left-Brain Thinkers (Infographic)

"Creativity is critical in business, but what do you do if you're not naturally creative?

Funders and Founders shares 31 ways to be creative in the infographic below, including:

Use What You Got--In the early days of a start-up, "what you got" might not be much at all, but make it work. Scarcity forces us to get creative and consider options we might skip over otherwise.

Destroy Creatively--This is one of my personal favorites. We think in terms of building and adding on when we're growing a business, but taking something apart and getting back to basics can be just as effective in finding a creative solution!

Stay Hungry--Experiencing success can lull some into a sense of complacency. Don't settle for small wins--accept them and keep thinking about the unique ways in which you can grow and build on them.

Don't Ask 'Why? 'Ask 'Why Not?'--Why go looking for obstacles to set in your own way? Ask yourself, why not? If there's nothing insurmountable standing in your way, go for it.

Check out all of these other ways you can get more creative:"

Took advantage of Best Buy's $24 Amazon Fire TV Stick deal. Liking it so far. I enjoy it for a bit before I start tinkering with it ;)

Loaded XBMC on it and it works REALLY well as if it was designed for the Fire Stick. $24 for a XBMC box is money well spent.

Very useful.

Do you want to know how much battery use websites/apps on your Chromebook? Check out the last Dev Update, open the Settings window and click on the brand new "Battery" button in the Device Section.

Each website/app shows a battery usage percentage. Clicking on it opens the Detailed Settings page where you can stop the website/app by simply clicking on the "Stop" button.

Why it's getting harder to get things done

Don't look now, but there's an acute attention shortage. It's becoming increasingly difficult to carve out time to focus and get real work done.

It's not your fault.

If you want to understand both the problem and the solution, you need to look at it as an ecological phenomenon.

Tech companies are like animals in a jungle, rapidly evolving new ways to distract you and steal your attention.

I'm going to tell you exactly what the problem is and how to solve it:
