By now, probably no one wants to be prodded with the suggestion of making New Year's resolutions. With that in mind, I humbly and cautiously present an article by dancer/teacher Haley Hilton, courtesy of DanceTeacher magazine, with resolutions for dance teachers in 2019:

Our Toronto Maple Leafs are equal to any challenge - any challenge you can name. So when the National Ballet of Canada came seeking two star performers to appear in their production of the Nutcracker ballet, Leaf forwards Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner were only too glad to answer the call. This official NBOC video reveals the heroic exploits of our two intrepid hockey stars (caution: may be too intense for some viewers):

If you own and operate a ballet studio, chances are you will have to hire ballet instructors (or modern, hip hop, tap, as the case may be) to help carry the teaching load. It would be difficult to overestimate the importance of the choices you must make. From DanceTeacher Magazine, here's an article by Julie Diana Hench (former principal dancer with the Pennsylvania Ballet, current executive director of the Juneau Dance Theatre) with some valuable tips for seeking out the best teachers for your studio:

It is the job of every ballet teacher to issue corrections to students. Some students, especially younger ones, may struggle with being told they don't have it right, and a sour or despondent mood may follow. Courtesy of DanceTeacher Magazine, Joanne Chapman offers some advice on issuing corrections that are essential to every young dancer's development:

If you've even been to a ballet studio bright and early on a Saturday morning, you've likely seen little preschoolers in their tiny ballet outfits ready for class. To parents and other adults, this seems incredibly "cute", but these classes could be of great importance to the success and longevity of any ballet studio, as the following article points out. Courtesy of DanceTeacher Magazine, Debbie Roberts of Showstopper goes over several points and tips for a successful preschoolers class:
