Forced to refuse
Take a welcome glance,
a token gesture of affection.
A lame excuse if nothing,
maybe there is such a thing as romance.
I thought I had read between the lines,
hopeless attempt at being true.
yet I know now not yesterday,
the voices of my heart she finds.
Countless but so few find them,
discernable only by the bearer,
so vague to so many,
could not think why or when.
A vision or a visionary,
a diversion maybe.
An angle or a slant,
take a different view.
An endangered species is the use of words,
confusion and complication is all they teach us.
Let it gain size,
watch it drown out our needs,
an ocean of our dreams,
it will dry up with it's lies.
Forced to refuse,
dealt a bad hand.
Made to try and withstand,
Yet we are crippled and abused.
