Nextdoor Tackles Racial Profiling at Street Level http://www.technewsworld.com/story/83850.html
Nextdoor last week rolled out to all 110,000 of its neighborhoods a new form-based process for making crime and safety reports. Implementation of the tool reduced incidents of racial profiling by 75 percent in areas where it was tested, according to CEO Nirav Tolia. Some Nextdoor members had begun using the site to post problematic messages targeting racial minorities.

HPE and Apple: The Speed of Image Transformation (or how to kill a brand very slooowly).  http://www.technewsworld.com/story/HPE-and-Apple-The-Speed-of-Image-Transformation-83921.html
HPE and Apple are very different companies this decade, having shifted their models from a strategic customer/innovation focus to one that's more tactical -- and tied far more closely to quarterly profit. They are hardly alone, and this unfortunate trend is not tied to any one industry or any one country. Firms increasingly are defined not by creative products but by complaining customers.

Why the Russian Hackers Are Doing US a favor and preventing the Terminator AI scenario.  http://www.technewsworld.com/story/83902.html?u=RobEnderle&p=ENNSS_8cf533ce2bc5b00a7c01b8261f27a591
Colin Powell's hacked email once again showcases that what people in office tell us and what they actually think are two very different things. Politicians work for us -- we are supposedly their employers. Yet we seem to know far less about what they do and think than what we need to know in order to vote intelligently. Powell's comments are actually far more damaging to Clinton than Trump.

We had a bad experience with our first Mercedes Benz purchase back in San Jose and it was so bad we swore to never buy another Mercedes. Mercedes-Benz of Bend generally was there for us even when Mercedes-Benz corporate was not. While there was one minor mistake with a feature we didn't order which we now realize we wanted that, I think, can be blamed more on poor communication from Mercedes-Benz corporate, in general this was one of the best dealer experiences we have ever had and I'd recommend them highly. So they turned a Mercedes-Benz hater into a lover which is pretty powerful, granted we aren't that happy with Mercedes-Benz corporate at the moment but that is an entirely different story having to do with European Delivery a program that has clearly lost its way.
