Last night I noticed a member of audience waving his phone around. he appeared to be videoing bits of my talk. It turns out he was streaming it on Periscpope. He then published it on FaceBook (Some 40 downloads in the first 20 minutes is neat but I have no control over quality nor do I know who has seen the clip.).
In this instance I know the gentleman in question and I know that he meant (and caused) no harm.
HOWEVER the implications for speakers are enormous. Obviously it depends on your business model but we could ask, "Why should people pay to see you if they can see the Periscope version for free?"
