When it comes right down to it, effective marketing has to generate real results. In order to achieve real results, brands are faced with the challenge of measuring the effectiveness of what they are doing, which is often outside of the more easily obtainable quantity metrics.

Since quantity metrics are usually much less complex and far easier to track and measure, many brands just seem to struggle with the more challenging, yet important quality metrics that has the biggest impact on their marketing improvement.

Humor is a universal emotional reaction to something that comes from relating to a specific thing or circumstance. There is no doubt that when humor is used properly within content it can make an affinity connection with an intended audience that speaks to their personal wellbeing and/or circumstances. Brands need to stop taking everything so seriously and understand the universal human experience that is humorous.

Content Wake Up Call For Brands
Consumers surveyed in the Meaningful Brands study stated that 60% of the content that brands are creating isn’t meaningful to them at all. In fact, those surveyed stated that sixty percent of the content that brands create is poor, irrelevant or fails to deliver FOR THEM. Much of brand content is pitch or sales messaging that doesn’t address the personal interests, needs of the reader, or doesn’t provide a benefit to the customer. It’s simply clutter!
