Microsoft has yet to complete its development of Windows 10, but it is already promoting the improvements in performance for Microsoft Edge, the browser that will be included in the new OS. Specifically, the JavaScript performance is already beating out the old Internet Explorer, along with Google's Chrome and Mozilla's Firefox, in two separate benchmark tests. In a highly technical...

Sometimes the best Instagram photo isn't square. However, the popular photo-sharing service forces users to upload images in square aspect ratio. There are workarounds, and we'll show you the best way to do it on your Windows Phone. We'll use the popular third-party Instagram app, 6tag. Follow our step by step instructions and/or watch the how-to video. The best way to upload a...

Prime Stations strum their way to the Amazon Echo, putting hundreds of ad-free stations a voice command away http://www.androidcentral.com/prime-stations-strum-their-way-amazon-echo-putting-hundreds-ad-free-stations-voice-command-away
Amazon's Echo got yet another new feature, and this time it is the addition of Prime Stations, which brings tons of ad-free music to the device. Recently the Amazon Echo has been getting integration with a bunch of new services, and the most recent is Prime Stations. It wasn't that long ago that we saw Prime Stations become available to Android users, and now the service is available...

Incredible. I'm talking to an appliance and it doesn't bother me. When I had my hands full last night with my daughter and found the light above my head too bright, "Alexa, turn off the light." Light turns off. "Ok." My morning news briefing, traffic along my commute, pandora radio, and now my unlimited prime music. Highly recommended.

GYSOT!
Microsoft has long been rumored to be including Android app support in Windows, but what it announced at Build 2015 looks much better than anyone may have ever imagined it to be. Because it doesn't just stretch to Android, either. Microsoft is courting iOS app developers, too, in fact, it already has done. Windows 10 isn't the first platform to go looking at another platforms apps. But...

We already have the Windows 10 preview in full swing on PCs and phones, but many are wondering when the Xbox One might be treated to the same. According to Xbox chief Phil Spencer, the answer is "post-summer." Spencer gave the timeframe in response to an inquiry on Twitter. While it's still a bit vague, we at least know that we're still several months away from a Windows 10 preview...

Developer Six to Start has made the decision to relaunch its fitness app Zombies, Run as a free-to-play game with a number of new features and improvements. Zombies, Run was first launched in 2012 as a paid app, which gave players a way to run with their smartphones in the real world while being chased by virtual members of the undead. This week, the game's developer Six to Start...

Cyanogen and Truecaller are partnering to build a new dialer app http://www.androidcentral.com/cyanogen-and-truecaller-are-partnering-reinvent-your-dialer-app
There's a new dialer app on the way for Cyanogen OS users, thanks to a partnership with Truecaller. Smartphones have, for the most part, taken our ability to communicate and improved it dramatically. There are more ways to reach out to the rest of the world than ever before, and whether you're into text only, face to face video, or good old fashioned audio calls you can reach out...

One of the big news stories to come out of Build 2015 was the Objective C tools that Microsoft is introducing to welcome iOS developers to Windows 10. This is amazing news, but there's a small elephant in the room, and that's Swift. Apple announced this at its WWDC 2014 developer conference, and is the newest way that iOS developers are building apps. But that doesn't mean Microsoft has...

Microsoft announced today that it is bolstering the "Internet of Things" (IoT) with the release of the Windows 10 IoT Core Insider Preview for developers and makers working with the Raspberry Pi 2 and Intel's Minnowboard Max. While we've known for a while that Microsoft was working on bringing free versions of Windows 10 to the IoT space, this marks the first time developers will get...

Apparently Honeys Donuts is Elk Grove's best kept secret. But that needs to change. Honeys Donuts has been here quietly serving the best doughnuts in the Sacramento region for well over a decade. Unlike other big chains that have come and gone in the city, Honeys Donuts has remained a staple of Elk Grove and for good reason, their absolutely worth it. Nothing else comes close, and you get a fantastic treat for a phenomenal price. I suggest everything on the menu, twice.
