Bruce Lawson, the guy who proposed the <picture> element, elaborates on its nuances in his presentation at AWWWards Conference Barcelona 2015. An excellent big picture (pun intended) overview (32 min). Here is a link to the slides: http://brucelawson.github.io/talks/2015/awwwards/

Good advice. Puts designers and developers on the same page.
It seems like a common sense idea: Designers and developers must work together. But too often, these individuals work apart while working on the very same project. The designer works to create elements and color palettes and typography that looks great, while the developer codes and prepares the material for web publishing. And this can …

The priority + menu. Solutions for web sites with complex navigation.
The idea is: show as many navigation items as will fit horizontally with a UI toggle to show the rest. I like the idea. Why hide everything behind a toggle

Long words, like the one in the image below, would have broken many layouts before responsive design. Today, long words create many failures on phones. This article looks at an assortment of css solutions and browser support for hyphenation. The author concludes with a solution that "will show hyphens for every browser supporting it and will break lines in every other browser".
The web consists of content, content consists of words and words can be long, very long. Everyone involved with the web will sooner or later have to deal with long words. Demo. Browsing the web on my mobile device daily I see all kind of “failures” with long words – broken layouts, cropped words ...

Exciting new book on design/dev from the point of view of building in performance. A modern Yale Style Guide and totally relevant to responsive web design/development. Download or read it FREE at this address (or buy). Very good chapters on optimizing images and markup and styles. Excellent overview of how smartphones communicate with servers.

Way too much stuff going on in Modern browsers. Do we need it all? Peter-Paul Koch suggests a moratorium and I agree.
Fair warning. You're going to hate this one. I want to stop pushing the web forward for a while. I want a moratorium on new browser features for about a year or so. Recently I've been having serious doubts about the whole push the web forward thing. Why should we push the web forward?

Using mediaquery, you can give a % dimension to a <DIV> that contains an image, after you have to give a full width (ex. 640px to use it in responsive for mobile device) and an auto height to image.

There's too much sh*t that has to go into the menu. What to do, what to do? Priority plus is working for lots of big name sites. Here's more on the subject.
In his article Obvious Always Wins, Luke Wroblewski warns of the dangers of sweeping links and actions under the rug. It's challenging to find the room to expose important actions on constrained mobile screen sizes, but it's necessary for designers to do so. A while back, I took a look at a few ...

I am very happy with the care I received at the Collegeville office. The therapists I worked with—Jim and Melissa—went beyond my expectations. I felt comfortable not only with their knowledge and experience but also with their table-side manners. I will go there again.
