My 3 Top Tips for Being Better at Twitter
I love Twitter, despite the hate it has been receiving as of late. In today's #SSSVEDA  (Vlog Every Day in April), I share a few of my favorite tips for being better at using the platform, and making it a bit more manageable!

About that time I ran from the police...
For my day 8 submission to #SSSVEDA  (Vlog Every Day in April), I depart from my normal tips and info-sharing to tell a little story. Based on the prompt from Amy "What is the most adventurous things you've ever done?" I decided to talk about a time I ran from the police.
No, really.

One thing social media marketers should do
I recently had the opportunity to participate in an +eClincher post asking for habits of successful social media marketers.
I talk about why I think my addition to the article is important to your success in my day 5 video for #SSSVEDA  (a fun video project put on by Amy Schmittauer of Savvy Sexy Social. Follow the hashtag to see what people are up to)

Had the VERY awesome opportunity to meet the one and only +Mia Voss in person at SXSW yesterday. She's just as wonderful in person as you'd expect her to be. :) Love meeting internet friends IRL!

What skills do great social media marketers possess?
Along with 10 other smarties, I had the opportunity to weigh in on what skills are critical to social media marketing success. Are there any you'd add?

What Characteristics do you need to be a Great Social Media Marketer?

Is there a magic personality or skill that you need to be a great social media marketer?

In this article from eClincher 11 marketers give their take on the most important characteristics.

+Neal Schaffer says he thinks "the most prominent habit is being able to focus". I'd agree with him on that one... err what were we talking about? Sorry, bad joke! Seriously being able to focus is very important and not getting too distracted with all the shiny new toys!

+Jenn Herman says it's the "true understanding of customer service".

+Neil Patel said "Consistency".

+Ted Rubin mentioned "Looking People in the Eye Digitally".

The characteristic I came up with was having "attention to detail".

Probably my favourite one was from +Rob Zaleski who said "The best social media marketers make a habit of getting away from their desk". Not a skill you'd expect, but one that is vital if we're not all to lose all hope of creativity.

Which means, once you've read the article, you're going to go off for a walk and take a break! ;-)

Give me all your coffee and croissants. I needed a spot that offered wifi and would warm me up during my short stay in Boston all the way from Austin, TX. This spot didn't disappoint in the slightest. The coffee is quality, the croissants are huge, and the staff is really friendly. The atmosphere is pretty open, and though there's a high ceiling and cement floor, the noise isn't too distracting. I highly recommend this spot for anyone staying at the Westin Waterfront that would rather support local than Sbux.

This tiny spot is always worth the wait. I actually recommend trying to get a seat at the counter and watch these masters at work. It's crazy to see how smoothly everyone works seamlessly to keep the food coming. The specialty pancakes never disappoint, the service is always friendly, and the coffee is good. You may have to wait a half hour or so because it doesn't seat many people. The coziness is part of Counter's appeal, though.

Really tasty breakfast tacos for super cheap! Perfect for a Sunday morning because there's a drive-thru and you don't even have to change out of your pajamas. The chips are thick but cheap. Don't let a long line dissuade you. They move quickly. Definitely put this spot on your list if you live on the south side.

Gluttony at its fried, flaky best. This ain't health food, but if you need something greasy and tasty, this is it. I've never had deep fried deviled eggs. They were *almost* too much. Almost. Also, they have a decent selection of local beers to accompany your delicious fried goodness.

This very unassuming spot is worth finding. It's right between Fado and Cedar Room, and the sign isn't super conspicuous. It has a dark, mellow atmosphere inside, but they specialize in Cuban food and rum drinks. The bartenders are all pretty cool and happy to chat a bit if the bar isn't too busy. Haven't had the food yet, but others in the bar were raving. Check this spot for a good cocktail and conversation with friends.

Brunch here. Do it. I'm going to recommend the beef tongue hash. Don't let yourself get weirded out by that. It's not a slab of tongue on a plate. It's a savory mix of falling apart meat and crispy potatoes. Warning: it can be a bit salty. I coupled it with the pecan bread and caramel sauce and it was a perfect combo. The Moscow Mules are tart but satisfying. A great spot for brunch, especially if you can get covered seating outside.

This tiny little spot is the truest version of a mom and pop shop. The owners stop by the tables to check on you, make jokes, and truly care about your experience. I recommend getting a combination of savory first, then sweet. You'll leave full and your tastebuds will be happy. I'll definitely be back. Again, it is small, so expect to be cozy and for it to be a little loud.
