Taking the backroad from Redwood City to Half Moon Bay. Just traded in for this 2010 Mercedes C300 4MATIC the day before. You just can't describe the difference a Mercedes makes versus a Ford or just about any other car.

"But Twitter, Zendesk and others coming to Mid-Market are occupying long-vacant space. These long empty buildings have hurt neighboring small businesses, which depend on office worker patronage to survive."

They might have introduced it as "a free service for sharing and visualizing data online." But it's pretty clear that as soon as you invoke terms like "tables" and "SQL" you set very different expectations in users' minds (see issues 490, 31 & 21). Also, there is no way for Google to introduce any database-like-thing to Google Docs without drawing comparisons to Microsoft Access. If Spreadsheets are Excel-lite then Tables are Access-lite except that the lite-bulb got crushed underfoot. I think the Google Docs concept had great potential but suffers from extremely poor execution. Google Docs came out in 2007 and I consider myself an early adopter. Yet I haven’t seen any of the obvious shortcomings fixed since then. It remains an enigma. Fusion Tables just adds insult to injury.
