Kevin Slavin, Baruch Skeer, Don Blauweiss, Ray Falci, Ed Mukovos, John Leeper, and all you others who labored to rescue The Gift from Peter Cooper, as each of you are capable of truly knowing it, thank you from the depths of our hearts and souls. I mourn the passing of an era that outlasted most others in our Great Republic. I feel especially honored at being a living recipient: a gift that keeps on giving for each of us. Now I understand what our elders say, when they precede their stories of times long gone, with the phrase, "I remember when..." Well that may last for another 60 years as we become the new elders before we as the bearers of the gift are all long gone. For us this was not a job nor role nor paid responsibility. Rather, it was a labor of love and a struggle to preserve our being, our identity. Sincerely, thank you, again, for doing not just trying even though the attempt did not succeed in altering this end we all did not wish nor seek. On towards our alma mater's Brave New World.
