Last Sunday night we looked at 'Is their life after someone you know tries to commit suicide - a look at Elijah in 1 Kings 17-19'

Sadly one of the men from church is at the centre of supporting and counselling friends of a man who killed himself this week.

Some believers can live tragic and devastating lives.
Death of those close to us, going through a harsh divorce, losing a cherished job, have to move can be moments of hardship.

God knows us and remembers.

You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in Your bottle. You have recorded each one in Your book.
Psalms 56:8

The significance of a Christian testimony is not how much you sinned, but how much you are saved.

Why does the USA have so many prisoners?

2.4 million on any one day are in prison.
(Nearly as many as people who live in Jamaica)

Around 11.6 million people will spend part of the year in prison. (More than the whole population of Belgium or Cuba)

The United States represents about 4.4% of the world's population, it has about 22% of the world's prisoners

1 in 3 Americans have a criminal record according to the FBI.

Black men are 6 times more likely to be in prison.

What is wrong?

PS. Australia percentage wise has about 700% LESS prisoners.

What if you gave the poor mansions to life in?
We have a luxury home with 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, 3 living areas, the largest is 8m by 8m. It is surrounded by beautiful gardens.

We rent it to an extended family on welfare, after one year, they have never weeded or cared for the gardens and rarely mow, inside is a mess, and very dirty.

Sadly, the house is now a mess, I spent 3 days with a friend to bring the gardens back to its former glory, I designed the garden to need minimum care, to maintain it would only take 10 minutes a week, yet with 6 adults in the house, and none working they cannot find that 10 minutes.

Being poor is not just money and wealth but self respect and attitude.

I have a lot of multimillionaire friends, they brag about how old their clothes are, or that they have had the same car for 20 years. (One has had her Ferrari for over 45 years)

Yes they are wealthy, but they respect and look after what they own.

I am surprised at how many poor people buy junk constantly and each item doesn't last long before it is thrown out.

28 out of 32=4 Woe!. So if one was to add that into the equation, of exactly how may actually keep a clean house, in the sight of the Lord, and by clean house, I mean the body we live in, standing before God at all times, as He never takes His eyes of us, even when we sleep, through the commandment we've been given to do so, and  just keeping that one command given us to keep, which is then in keeping with the rest through that one command, by the owner of the house given to us to keep, and only 4 out of 32 actually do this, then as it is written in scripture, many are invited, to but few are chosen.

Bragging rights
Nothing to brag about but Jesus - who is not only my Lord and Saviour but also my rock and foundation. However I do like that I have spoken in around 600 churches but really Jesus only is worth bragging about.
