Ultra Lists for RapidWeaver

Weavium – until quite recently unheard of – just released their 16th stack. Ultra Lists – possibly the most versatile list stack available.

Contact Details, Sales Widget, Itinerary List, Product List, FAQs. The long list of uses is only restricted by your imagination.
Ultra Lists displays a list in accordion form (Weavium hates that word) that each shows an image or icon, a header text, an optional description and optional tags. It can display an optional search field to search the list and an optional tag filter.

Circle Menu for RapidWeaver

One Little Designer has added a new menu stack to its growing assortment of menus. Circle Menu may be displayed anywhere on your stacks page and will display up to eight links arranged in a circle – or a square.

Circle Menu can be configured to be open or closed when your page loads. If it is closed, it shows up as a circular button (default) with a hamburger icon. When clicked the circle (or square) expands to display up to eight further buttons with icons that are linked to URLs of your choice. The buttons are added as child stacks and each child is configured individually.

Ascend – Page Anchors for RapidWeaver

‘Don’t just scroll… Ascend’ is the newest shibboleth from Weavium. However ‘Ascend’, the name of Weavium’s latest stack, just doesn’t do the stack justice. I would have chosen ‘Traverse’, or ‘Locomote’. Ascend means to move up, which is not what Ascend does – it moves anywhere!

In the last twelve months a couple of anchor stacks were released to assist with in-page navigation; some more, some less complicated. Ascend is one of the less complicated, but more useful solutions. Not only does it automatically add page anchors to transport you to the top or bottom of the page, it can also add a sub menu that can whisk you away to any section within your page.

Journal for RapidWeaver

Jochen Abitz has released yet another Total CMS project – Journal. Once again, the project displays dynamic content from the Total Blog stack and once again the project is well executed and the ideal starting point for your next CMS project.

If you take a look at the Journal demo pages – Photography, Travel and eJournal, you’ll find that the Photography and the Travel Journal categories may be navigated via the large slider images (JW’s Moving Box) at the top of the page, whilst the simpler eJournal demo displays a list of articles with the slider toggled to ‘off’.

Album for RapidWeaver

Weavium builds stacks that are highly configurable. Album is one of those stacks. The Album settings panel is so long that it took me an hour to go through each setting and even then, I may have missed one or two.

Album is a lightbox stack and I’ll say right from the start that I’m rather taken with it.
Album displays a stylised stack of photos which. when clicked, open up a grid of images which, when clicked, open to cover the screen. You can then scroll through the images using the navigation buttons. Both the photo stack.and the main lightbox window display a title alongside a description and each large image displays a caption.

Yuzool Navigation for RapidWeaver

You often hear complaints about the standard RapidWeaver navigation bars and a number of developers have recently provided solutions that try to combat the problems. Many of these solutions, however, mean adding menu items manually. Not really ideal if you have a site with 20 pages. Yuzool Themes just released Navigation, a stack that will solve problems such as the menubar being limited to two levels of dropdowns.

Navigation is a stack that targets frameworks such as Foundation and Bootstrap, but with a little CSS, the menu bar of most themes can be hidden and replaced, making Navigation the ideal menu bar for many standard themes too.

Agency for RapidWeaver

Agency. That’s the name of the latest Foundation/Total CMS project from Rapidpages.de, otherwise known as Jochen Abitz. Agency is a four-page project, plus six Admin pages.
Is it worth taking a look at? Let’s see…

As we have come to expect from Abitz projects, Agency displays a clean design – a contemporary, but timeless layout; straightforward with no bells or whistles.

WebYep2 for RapidWeaver

Back in 2002, two years before the release of RapidWeaver and long before WordPress, an open-source CMS appeared on the scene. WebYep allowed you to quickly turn any website into editable pages where the user could update content on the live page. WebYep has been completely overhauled by Max Fancourt (and team) and is now available as version 2.

Joost, of Tsooj Media, released a suite of RW stacks which allowed Weavers to easily add WebYep to any RW project. Will Woodgate took over the development of the stacks and they have just been re-released. The code has been completely overhauled and the new stacks are fully compatible with WebYep2, adding new features to to much loved suite of WebYep stacks.

SVG Stack For RapidWeaver

I recently read a plaidoyer on one of the forums that argued that warehoused images are unnecessary – most RapidWeavers don’t take advantage of the function. Well here’s proof that the statement just can’t be true. The new SVG stack from Doobox is targeted specifically at warehoused SVGs, now giving us a choice of three stacks that can display an SVG.

The name SVG stack is slightly misleading. The stack will also load warehoused jpg, png and gif files and can display an alternate image on hover. The latter function is interesting especially as it allows you to mix formats.
