Introduction
I've been writing software professionally for more than 20 years and am currently working as a full-stack web developer on my own project because I've entirely given up on the corporate world. Long story, and yes, I'd be happy to share some time. It's un-fucking-pleasant, I can't be convinced otherwise and I accept nothing but contracts.

I do not consider, accept or in any want permanent/full-time employment. If it's all going to be a lie, then just at least be down to Earth. You need a thing done yesterday. That's all you need. I'm that whole problem's solution. It will cost you. But, that's just fair.

In the past, I've tinkered with the Linux kernel, written Amiga MOD players in Assembly on DOS, built some of the best video games and networked applications of a variety of scales alongside some of the best and absolute worst people in several different industries and domains.

Then, one day: I fucking stopped.

Employment
  • Independent
    Rob, 2014 - 2014
I am literally just doing me for a while focusing 100% of my energy and time on Pulsar CMS - an open source content management system I've created.
  • Independent
    The Technician, 2012 - 2014
I decided to make an attempt at divorcing my 20+ year software development career and venture out on my own. I'm currently producing music and soundtracks for use in film, video, TV, Web more while building GENERATOR, an in-browser desktop audio workstation built entirely in HTML5.
  • Weapons-Grade Corporate Stupidity
    Abused Idiot, 2003 - 2012
I don't want to talk about it, okay? I had a bad experience. Period.
  • Cottage Industry Gaming
    Idealistic Dipshit Zombie, 1990 - 2002
I cherish the opportunities I had to work alongside the awesome people I met; I'm proud of the innovations and accomplishments we made and of the awesome things we built together (like the gaming industry itself...by hand...in Assembly if we had to).

After dragging my software development career to the trash and emptying it in November of last year, ready to say I've been spending the past five years learning to grow everything and effectively smoking one really, really long joint, more bowls than I could count and more vapor than most would understand. I said fuck it, put that career in a bucket, got high, stayed high, asked why? then said goodbye.

Today? This is my office. I built it by hand. I taught myself to grow with help from many people I actually respect who are trying to do more good in a given day than ANYONE I can describe from my former life.

Thankful to have made this switch; never looking back.

Mix I recorded this morning with a cup of coffee and a bowl of Sensi Star. These are casual, and I'm usually just experimenting with different sounds and textures in different orders intended to deliver an overall arc to the set.

For this, I created a custom opening track in Ableton so I could automate an arrangement mashup using Obeson - Alone vs. Skream - Corporate Sell-Out. I wanted the tools in Ableton to control how you're hearing each track in each phrase as one presentation and wanted to use effects that aren't possible on my DJ rig.

You can listen to the Alone x Corporate Sell-Out mash on its own here: https://soundcloud.com/vctech/obeson-alone-voltage-technician-corporate-sell-out-mix

The rest of the set is mixed live using an NS6 in Serato DJ on Windows 8 if any of that matters at all.

I'm pretty happy with it. Enjoy :)

Let me make this simple: Come at me with a needle trying to force me to take a vaccine, and that needle is going in your eye. Then, I'm punching the needle into your brain. Trying to force me or anyone in my family to take a vaccine will simply be the last thing that person ever got to try.

You were never taught life skills. You were only taught to rely on others. See a doctor, see a therapist, see your priest, call a cop, take 'em to court, buy groceries, work for someone else helping them achieve their dreams.

Ever think of saying, "No, thanks," to any of that? Well, chances are it's illegal or quickly becoming illegal. Ever wonder why? Were you ever asked?

Who actually makes these laws today? And, on who's command or at who's demand?

Ask better questions, sheep.

I delete Google+ notifications and emails about comment threads before reading them. I figure once I've said all I intend to say, why bother? Need to find the switch to shut all that shit off. I know it's in here somewhere..... (goes digging)

The good news is that Tom Wolf won the election, we already have SB3 (medical) and SB528 (recreational) and it looks good for Cannabis in Pennsylvania. We might get quality control on our meds here soon enough!!

Whole-plant medicine is the safest and most natural way to consume cannabis as medicine. The medicine I grow and take does not fit into a pill.

This is what happens when an ignorant, belief-trapped 2.0 TV personality goes up against an educated, enlightened 4.0 person. Nancy, you will never appear to us as anything but a retarded idiot on this topic. Mad respect for 2chainz for not actually slapping her out of her chair. He...must have gotten properly medicated before having to deal with this belief-pushing government policy whore.

This place is too uptight. There needs to be more weed on this network. Probably won't post again for at least a month. And, when I do...it'll probably be more weed.

Every once in a while I stop by here just to see how bad things are. Still pretty bad as expected. This is still the most over-engineered online experience available, it scares "normal" people and will never catch on.

Doubt that if you want, but it's been how many years?

Love,
-Rob
