Time for a history lesson! Did you know that before Laurence Gieringer's miniature village became what is now Roadside America, it was the "International Miniature Village" located at Carsonia Park in Reading, PA?

We, the team of Roadside America, are working extremely hard to not only maintain the display but also restore it to its original beauty. Unfortunately, this also means taking the time necessary to fix many issues the exhibit has developed over its lifespan. Our goal is to not only return many of the electrical elements to working order, but to also ensure they will remain operational for many generations to come.

With this huge electrical maintenance task, however, comes downtime. Today, the display was closed to visitors as we began to rework the old and dysfunctional electrical system. Unfortunately, we will be closed tomorrow as well as we continue with the monster of a task at hand. We thank everyone for their continued support as we revitalize this incredible piece of artwork and craftsmanship. We hope to be back open to the public this weekend.

In the coming weeks and months, we hope all visitors will begin to see massive improvements being made to the exhibit. Despite facing frequent adversity with the 60+ year old display's upkeep, we couldn't be more proud of the phenomenal staff we have on board. Our team works hard every day to bring this beautiful miniature landscape to life for a whole new generation and to keep it alive for generations to come.
