In honor of Purple Heart Day, we’d like to share some stories from two of our community residents, both of whom received the Purple Heart for their respective acts of valor.

We are so thankful for our veterans, and we’re honored to have so many residents across the United States that have served for our freedom. Thank you, Joe and Eddie. http://bit.ly/2MqqmIm

The importance of staying fit and healthy at any age can’t be overstated! With Functional Fitness, you can do just that.

The goal of Functional Fitness is to increase overall health and well-being, reduce the potential for falls, and encourage older adults to remain active. Where possible, functional fitness can even reduce the need for assisted mobility devices.

As a caregiver, you’re constantly taking care of others. No matter how rewarding a task this might be, it still can be tiring, and can lead to burnout. In the same way that flight attendants instruct to “put on your own oxygen mask before helping others,” you should also make sure that you’re putting a priority on taking care of yourself.

That’s where “respite care” comes in. Learn more about what respite care is, where you can find it, and how it can help you in our new blog.
