This hotel is OK. For the price, however, I wouldn't stay here again. The hotel is lacking character and ambiance. The rooms were nice, but a litte worn--noticed stains on carpeting and wall. The restaurant next to it had good food and nice view, but the service was really bad. Others guests said that they had experienced this type of service in the past. My husband and I both said we wouldn't be back.

Overwhelmingly underwhelming at best, with awesome valet service. Laminent flooring when you walk into their nicest suite, room 314, followed by a stained couch with no bedding for the pullout. No apologies or even a your welcome after playing 21 questions with the front desk when we just really wanted to go to bed and needed bedding. As if the service wasn't lackluster enough don't expect to be consoled by the scarce and culturally appropriative African themed cheap art, oh yeah and the ross bamboo mass produced print. Don't even expect to take a seat from the stress from all that without putting a towel down on that stained couch, dirty and yuck. If you want to eat something or stir your tea good luck, you'll have a table that seats 6 with no cutlery napkins or dishes so all 5 of your guests can drink their coffee black while you try not to look at the art because you certainly would have to get up and look between some trees to even see the River. Alternatively you could check out the river on your walk across the street to their restaurant where you'll be traversing to if you don't eat with your hands and your front desk agent won't get it for you, like mine. Their balcony was expansive; however, covered in spider webs and stains with a shoddy paint job. You can see on the railing where they just didn't tape it off well at all or fix it afterwards. God I hope I don't fall off this balcony. If I did fall though I'd probably break their miniscule glass table because the glass panel on top has no anti slide coasters (expensive death). For the price you could rent out half a motel 6 and receive better service, at least there will be some utensils for food and I've never had trouble with their coffee makers.

Hidden, just a few minutes down the river from the center of downtown portland, yet still located close to the action, the Rivers Edge Hotel is a good spot to enjoy Portland while keeping a fairly low profile. The rooms are very clean and chic - the views over the water are fun and the restaurant adjacent provides a nice place to get happy hour or dinner in the evening. Lunch at the Aquariva is a good value and provides some interesting new dishes to try.

Spent a week here recently and I am conflicted about this review because...the staff was very pleasant, but services were underwhelming. The shuttle service was interesting since it did not go anywhere we wanted to go even when we reached those places in minutes using a cab, so do not know why it was offered. So, in every hotel I have ever stayed in there is a packet of local info for guests: nearby restaurants etc and since they offered a spa, we looked for the sheet that would tell us what the services were. On arrival, when I asked for this package, the young lady at the desk courteously helped me because she had one at the desk which was great except I did not want to go to the desk every time I wanted to choose a restaurant. The brochures for the spa are also at the front desk. It was only when we were checking out that we noticed the restaurant brochures in the lobby next to some seating. Housekeeping was iffy. There was a shelf below the sink where extra towels were stowed. We declined to use them since there was a thick layer of dust on the shelf There was obviously no sweeping of the bathroom floor at all. There was a little toilet paper on the roll when we left for the day, so we assumed that it would be replaced when housekeeping passed by. Nope, we had to call for toilet paper and washcloths since none had been left. We called down for the toilet paper and received it along with robes. Have no idea why robes were sent. Then the issue of microwaves: it stated they were available on request. well we called down to get one, was instructed to go to the spa where the attendant informed us that the microwave was a staff microwave, but she did let us use it. Had a great time while in Portland, but will choose another hotel next time. The valets were great though.

I recently spent a couple days here with my fiancé, and we would most definitely recommend this hotel/spa to anyone who is looking to relax and escape from the pressures and chaos of everyday life. We had an amazing time during my stay. Our balcony had a beautiful view of the Willamette River and the peaceful atmosphere was just what we needed . The spa treatments and staff were amazing, super friendly and went above and beyond to make everything perfect. My fiancé and I will be back again soon. All in all, it was worth every penny!

This hotel is very nice and has a spa feel from the moment you walk in. I did have a hard time finding the location using Siri, but once I looked up the building on Google I saw the building very easily. It is at the bottom of the hill. The room I was in was large and had a nice bed. The TV's are very old and the remote is clunky. I ordered some room service and it was a good meal, a little expensive, but that is room service.

Quiet, hidden gem. Free upgrades and comp valet parking was an excellent surprise. Thanks for making our vacation special.
