Geothermal - Development in India :- Ritesh Arya

The use of geothermal spring for bathing and washing was known to the habitats of Himalayas since Ramayana times approximately 3300 BC.
The Vashist Hot springs in Manali shown below derive their hot water from the natural springs which were formed as a result of direct interaction of spring water from the surface to the hot rocks deep below the surface through series of faults followed by their resurgence later through the same system to produce hot water.
According to mythological/historical evidences these hot springs have been in use since those times to be centers of learning and healing in those times.
