RightField has a shiny new website.

Ever since we first started creating Rightfield, we have always used and quoted the www.rightfield.org.uk website for details about RightField. However, until now this has redirected to a holding page within our SysMO-DB project website.

Finally, we now feel RightField is ready to stand on its own two feet, and have given it its own dedicated website. Over time we will be populating this site with new and useful information about RightField, or information related to RightField.

Carole Goble presented a well received talk about +SEEK and +RightField at the International Semantic Web Conference (ISWC) in Sydney. The talk was about the use of RDF and Semantics in SEEK for Systems Biology, and had the title "Semantic Data and Models Sharing in systems Biology: The Just Enough Results Model and the SEEK Platform".

We will soon be making the slides available on our website.

A new version of RightField is available, version 0.20

This version includes new support for exporting the annotations (along with non annotated cells with content) in CSV format. It also includes a few bugfixes and UI improvements.

We also have in the pipeline a version that will now handle XSLX (Excel 2007+) formats. We've hopefully now overcome the problems we had with Apache POI, and have a working version - however we feel this needs some additional testing until we can make it available. Unless any major unexpected problems are found we should be releasing this in the next couple of weeks.

A new version of RightField is available, version 0.19

There are no new features in this version, just fixes to a couple of bugs - to correctly inform the user when opening an invalid or unsupported file format; and also a fix to avoid running out of the limit of 4000 styles in an Excel document when marking up a large number of cells.
