Storm rolling in from the sound of Raasay.

Taken on typical beautiful, dull, sunny, windy, snowy, rainy day on Skye

This probably better articulates how i feel about the current state of Nikon at the moment.
Really struggling to see the point in staying with them, even if they do upgrade the D800/810 this year. Their decisions have been mind-boggling.
But almost hostage-like I am stuck with Nikon as there isn't really an alternative solution out there from a competitor that can touch the D800/810 for detail, and dynamic range, in various settings I find myself in, its a true workhorse in every sense of the word, particularly handy this year with the projects I am involved in. (Disclaimer *in my opinion)

Personally, its going to be an interesting 6 months while I decide what my next camera is going to be, I am long overdue and have been waiting on the D820/850/900 announcement from Nikon for a while.

I have never been a fanboy of a particular company, I jump ship more than jack sparrow, and currently find myself scanning the horizon for an alternative (as long as it has a +Sigma Imaging (UK) Ltd lens option ;) )

Lets hope something pops up at the photography show next week in Birmingham that tickles my fancy.

The Eccentric Beggar : Musician

I was delighted to be asked by my friend Kris Rae to shoot some promotional portraits of of him for his new project "The Eccentric Beggar". The singer and multi-instrumentalist has recently recorded a new E.P. which is set to be released by R'n'R Records in June 2017. I have known Kris for a number of years and have worked with him on a number of projects in the past, and knew that this shoot would inevitably be followed by a hangover.

Some of these images from the shoot are used in my review of the Sigma 50MM Art which you will be able to read in the next few days.

What a day yesterday,

On way back from filming and shooting stuff with +John G Moore I stopped off at "That Mountain" again, as it was as dark and as clear as I had ever seen it before.

Shot with Nikon D750, Nikon 14-24mm at 14mm, Iso was either 1600 or 3200 (can't remember) for 20seconds at f/2.8 +Nikon Europe +Landscape Photography +BTP Landscape Pro +HQSP Landscape +Landscape & Nature Photography ART

PS - Also a wee note, that the Light on top of the Buachaille isn't a start, its a mountaineering group with their torches on, i assume, descending into the darkness of Glencoe

Yet another Buachaille Etive Mor image, who can blame me.

Taken from a little further back than usual, at the Kingshouse Hotel.
