I have several true passions in life; Harley Davidson Motorcycles, actually anything with 2 wheels and a motor qualifies but my preferences are Harley's. I like the old bikes, classics, someday my goal is to own a 1950's Panhead, the real deal. I had a 2007 Softail Custom, had to get rid of it when I went back to school. Found my 1987 Sportster 1100 (yes 1100, the first year of the blockhead "evolution motor" the engine size was 1100). In 1988 they went to the current 1200 engine. My 87 is a "Liberty Edition", and is currently undergoing more transformations to make it reflect more of my personality.
I am passionate about the US military men and women (plus their families) that have served are serving, and will serve. My preference is the US Navy, as a retired Senior Chief it is my duty to inform everyone that the Navy is the best.
I graduated High School at 17, and left for boot camp. I swore that I was done with school, was I wrong! Since then I haven't stop going to school, even taught 4 years for the Navy in San Diego, CA. I got everything I asked for from the Navy... and then some; TRAVEL, ADVENTURE, SCHOOL, and CAREER.
Nondestructive Testing (NDT) school was a reenlistment bonus that led me to Level III Certification with The American Society for Nondestructive Testing in Liquid Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, Ultrasonic, Radiographic testing methods. I also had my FAA repairman ticket for NDT, and was certified in Eddy Current. I moved into the military aerospace world and was eventually picked up by Boeing St. Louis in the supplier quality management department. From there I transferred to Palmdale California as the NDT Level III for the Space Shuttle Maintenance and Modification Center which morphed into The High Desert Assembly and Integration Team. That was the pinnacle of my NDT career, what was next????
Somewhere in the process of all that, I earned a BS in Project Management, took some post graduate classes, certified as a Quality Manager and Auditor, published several papers and a magazine article, and spoke at some National and Regional Conventions. The Space Shuttle modification center at Palmdale closed down in 2004/2005, I chose not to stay with Boeing and instead moved into a different company as a Supervisor in the Quality Department.
In 2008 I was remarried! I am still married to my soul mate Linda, we have agreed that we are both too old to ever have to remarry so she is stuck with me, HA. This was a true point of change in my life.
I used my G.I. Bill and went back to school. I got certified as a Histotechnician through the Board of Certification with The American Society for Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), and we have moved back to Missouri where I work at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in the clinical pathology lab
