Introduction
Rick Marini has been a pioneer in online social media for more than a decade. Rick is the Founder & CEO of BranchOut, the largest professional community on Facebook, with more than 30 million users around the globe. BranchOut allows people to build their professional brands by sharing photos and posts that dynamically showcase their skills, expertise and accomplishments. BranchOut also operates the largest job board on Facebook with millions of jobs and internships. BranchOut has raised $49 million in funding from Accel Partners, Redpoint Ventures, Mayfield Fund, Norwest Venture Partners and some of the top angel investors in Silicon Valley.

Before starting BranchOut, Rick was the Founder & CEO of SuperFan, a social entertainment site that produced Facebook apps and social games. Clients included CBS, MTV, Sony, Universal Music, and Warner Music.

Prior to SuperFan, Rick was the Co-Founder, CFO & Chief Strategist for Tickle.com, one of the largest social media sites on the Internet. Tickle was the first site to successfully leverage viral marketing through personality tests, photo-sharing and matchmaking services. Tickle operated as a profitable company with close to $40 million of annual revenue. In 2002, Tickle won the “Rising Star” Webby Award as the fastest growing site on the Web. Tickle grew to more than 200 million registered users and was a top 20 Interest site. In 2004, Monster Worldwide acquired Tickled for more than $100 million.

Rick is the National Co-Chair of Technology for Obama. He is an advisor/investor in numerous companies including Dreamworks, BlackJet, Wavii, Nuzzel, Stipple, Lumos Labs, Radius Intelligence, Founder’s Den, Fighter, UrbanTag and Friendster.

Rick graduated from University of New Hampshire, magna cum laude, and received an MBA from Harvard. He is regularly featured in national press as a thought leader on social media, entrepreneurship, and the future of the Internet.
